New Ray, WW II, 1:48 scale, Mitsubishi A6M Zero, plastic model

I saw this scale model on Amazon and another website. This one looked white or very light gray and the other looked silver. When I received them they were the same color. That sounds like a bad thing, but it was actually good. One of the kits had some wrong parts, so I really needed two kits to make one complete Zero fighter. I thought it was a "snap together" easy model. Nope. Most of the parts need trimming, sanding or grinding with other tools to make them fit. I learned some mistakes from the first kit (the "instructions" were no help) and I am very pleased with the results. I built scale models when I was a teenager but don't consider myself a master craftsman. If you want a scale model with some detail you can be proud of, you're going to have to work on this kit. One example is that I copied a photo of a Zero fighter instrument panel. I measured the space inside the cockpit and scaled the photo down to fit. Then I printed it, cut it out and glued it to the blank instrument panel on the model. I also used some flat paints in areas where there are no decals. I think matte colors look better on scale models, unless you are building a car or something flashy. I will take some photos to share soon.

DO NOT Buy from this seller, i purchased this airplane for my son because he loves zeros but it arrived incomplete. I was unable to put it together without the missing parts. It almost looks like it has been used but advertised and sold as new. It deserves zero stars .

Ordered for a elementary gifted unit. Boys loved it! Easy to assemble.

Nice desk or shelf display. Other models in series are also interesting, all have working landing gear.

Parts don't fit together well. Model doesn't fit on the stand. Instructions are poor.

Cheaply made. Doesn't last a 6 yr old for very long.
