Necessary for repair
Purchased for a fried who was having a problem with his outboard.Manual was hard to read as it had too much information not pertaining to his particular motor.

Good manual
The manual has many descriptive details, but it is not practical.Overall good.Il manuale ha molti particolari descrittivi, ma è poco pratico.Nell'insieme buono.

Tries to cover too much and doesn't cover enough
By trying to cover 21 years of engines and the full range of sizes, this book is very short on the details. It is very lacking in useful schematics and specifications as well as step-by-step procedures. One would do far better to get the Honda shop manual for the specific model outboard you have. I found this totally useless as a reference. Perhaps it has a value as an historic overview of Honda outboards. Nothing more.

Honda Outboard Repair
As a new Honda outboard owner I found this book very helpful with tune-ups & minor repairs. Seems to be 400+ diagrams & pictures to walk you through repairs. Divided into helpful sections: Tools needed, Maint. & Tune-up, Ignition & Electrical, Lubrication, Engine Mechanical, etc.

WARNING: Waste of Money
With 22 years of mechanical experience, I found this book to be poorly organized, was severely lacking in schematics and illustrations, and tended to describe procedures only half way. It seemed at times that the author was not even fluent in English. This book will only add frustration to the job. Look elsewhere.

An excelent manual
This is a clear, concise text book. Easy to follow but it is of greatest use to the serious repairer who has the experience, skills and tools to do the work. Even so there is plenty of worthwhile information for those who are more interested in routine maintenance. For me, it has already paid for itself in DIY over paying for repairs.

the book has all relevant information needed,but does'nt breakdown repair procedures as would say a haynes manual,but its done the job.kind regards.paul
