Schaeffler LuK RepSet 05-173 Clutch Kit, OEM Clutch Replacement Kit

A few things with this product.Packaging is meh , the slave cylinder fell out of the box and because of the moving around the part itself came apart in 3 pieces due to the spring pressure on the part , this easily could be remedied by the manufacturer by zip tying the part so it won't fall apart. However it's easily re-assembled if the parts are not damaged or cracked , so it's just a minor inconvenience.secondly if you have done a clutch before and don't use a service manual , this clutch is a 1 piece clutch which means the flywheel , plate and pressure group are riveted together , so it's not like the standard 3 piece clutch , when you take the transmission apart , you will see it mounts like a torque converter on a auto transmission does , so on the 1.8 SE 2008 model , you can access these bolts thru the dust cover at the bottom of the engine , it's advised to take those bolt off before removing the transmission so the clutch stays on the primary shaft and comes out together with the transmission.it will save you room doing it this way as you only need about an 1" of clearance to drop the transmission VS having to move the transmission the entire length of the primary shaft , this is also much easier when putting it back in , you can just slide the unit onto the primary shaft and lift the transmission and clutch into place.i wish i would have known this before hand but i took the old clutch out before i seen the new one , and i looked at a youtube video , but it was for an RT model which does come with a 3 piece clutch , it would have saved me quite some time.there's an alignment tool included with the set , i just don't understand why because you don't need it with this clutch at all.

Had no issues with it from opening it, to putting It in. Everything worked as it was supposed to.

As a transmission technician, I install Luk clutches almost exclusively, and the continue to have consistent quality at the best value. I have yet to have a problem with any of their clutch kits, and will continue to use them!

When I received a clutch kit, I did not have time to open the box for few months, therefore a return was not an option. Finally, removed a clutch on my Jeep Patriot 2015 and opened a clutch kit. First, I found a clutch release bearing separated on three 3 parts. It was not usable at all. In addition, it was made from poor quality plastic. Seeing a release bearing, I am not sure if this clutch can even work and to redo the clutch again could be another $1500 for labor. Eventually, I had to buy a new release bearing for $139 and ordered an original Mopar clutch for $400. It is expensive; however, I would rather do it ones than to redo all this heavy work in few weeks or months again. Do not buy this junk because after the installation you don’t know how long you can drive you Jeep.

Very good clutch set at an affordable price. I gave it 4 stars because they packed everything in one box including the, plastic, fragile bearing. I was lucky that the bearing was not damaged during shipping, the weight of the modular clutch made a hole in the shipping box. So far I've driven approx. One month and its shifting nice and smooth.

I like this product, it wasn't very expensive and it worked perfect for my Jeep Compass Sport 2013 2.4L Manual Transmission
