I already own the HD+ model, and bought this anyway.
I travel and teach for a living, and since I'm a software developer I love being able to get work done dual-head in the various hotels where I stay. I bought the MMT Monitor2Go HD+ 15.6" HDMI & USB Portable Monitor model of this same product (the FHD was not out yet) after reading positive reviews, and have been loving it. It suits my needs perfectly, and fits in my backpack right next to my 15" MacBook Pro (they're about the same size). After seeing that this FHD model is available, I upgraded and sold my HD+ to a friend. True to form, the FHD is beautiful, bright and crisp, and as with the HD+, the no-latency HDMI connection is well suited to playing videos and other high-framerate content. This thing has become an integral member of my travel backpack.

Not perfect, but good enough
For my purposes, this monitor gets the job done.Pros: It's relatively light weight, feels very durable, plays in full 1080p, and it's clam shell design protects the screen while I transport it from location to location. The iPad area and the carrying sleeve was also pretty nifty.Cons: The speakers are a touch on the quiet side and I'm not sure if the sound is coming from the back or the bottom of the device, but definitely not pointed towards me. There is no area to store the power cable in the carrying sleeve. The screen seems to be a little jittery on static objects such as solid lines shown on my web browser menus or itunes. It's not really noticeable in moving video such as movies or games, but it's something to point out. Also I'd like to not, not a con for the device itself, but the little male to male HDMI adapter that came with my Monitor2Go seem to be defective. When i try to use it with my iPad HDMI video either will not run through it or it does for a few seconds and then tells me that the device can't play protected videos. It's not a huge deal, as I can just run it through a full sized HDMI cable and have it work just fine. There's just a bit of cable hanging off the side to deal with if I go that path. All in all. There's not a lot of products on the market that are as portable at the Monitor2Go that will take an HDMI connection and while it's not perfect, it suits my needs for a 1080p monitor that I can take with me.UPDATE: I was contacted directly by MMT thanking me for my review and addressing the issues I had with the product. The also offered to replace the faulty HDMI adapter at no cost to myself. Their customer service is top notch, and it's obvious that they really care about their product and making improvements. Because of this, I'm bumping my review up to 4 stars from the previous score of 3.

Great form factor... I just wish the image quality was better
I bought this as a companion to my 2013 Mac Pro. The form factor and physical build quality was exactly what I wanted. I liked the metal casing and the fact that the video was fed over HDMI.The negatives tho are that I didn't feel the image quality was upto the the quality I was hoping for. The colors and brightness were not as accurate as say an iPad. With that being said if they came out with a new model with better color etc I would buy it instantly.

Great, versatile and easy-to-use iPad monitor
I've only had the MMT monitor 2-days, but it has already exceeded my expectations for ease of use, functionality and versatility. I'm not very technical so it was a shock to me that I only needed to buy the Apple connector to get the monitor working with my iPad. Within minutes of returning from Best Buy, I was working on the iPad with an associate on the other side of my desk watching my work on the monitor! As easy as this was for me with an older iPad (second version of iPad 2 according to my Google search), it should be a breeze for users of more current iPad models. Thus far my only challenge has been learning how to control the volume. The speakers on the MMT monitor are very good, so the first time I ran video the sound nearly blew me out of my chair! This is definitely a 5-star product for both the experts and tech-challenged like myself!

3 Steps Forward + 2 Steps Back = Marginal Improvement
I am an owner of the previous model, MMT Monitor2Go HD+ 15.6" HDMI & USB Portable Monitor . While not perfect, I was a huge fan and I still use it daily. I almost considered the GeChic monitors, but they don't look as sturdy and I didn't mind having matching monitors aesthetically.Pros:1. Higher resolution screen than the previous model.2. Roku finally works. There was an HDCP issue with the previous model.3. Speakers are now built-in compared to the previous model.Cons:1. On the previous model, I use it as a secondary monitor via HDMI. When the computer goes to sleep, so did the monitor. However, this model removed the Sleep option and stays on with a blue screen. I don't like this. See attached photo.2. Speakers sound tiny, but it's better than nothing. In addtion, I wish the speaker placement was elsewhere. In Laptop Mode, the speakers are facing straight down and sounds muffled. In Standing Mode, the speakers are facing away from the user.Nice to Haves:1. Easily accessible Volume Control. The buttons are similar to the Brightness controls of the older model, but when I really need to adjust the volume, it offers a little too much resistance for my tastes.2. Adjustable iPad slot. I have the iPad Air 2 and while the tablet itself fits, the microphone and buttons don't quite line up with the MMT iPad Air® Adapter Insert for Monitor2Go and I'm sure future iPad models won't either (ie iPad Pro).I wish there was more variety and products from this company. Customer service has always been great. I will update this review if I find anything worth mentioning as time goes by.

NOT USB powered - requires 12V adapter
It requires 12V power which means an elaborate portable battery scheme or access to a wall outlet. I wanted to use it for travel, but with the limited power options I might had as well just use my laptop instead.I would suggest waiting for a USB 3 version which would solve power issues as well as provide the best possible video transfer rate. i didn't test the video, so please rely on other reviews to see if the video plays smoothly.Otherwise, it is very nicely made.
