I've been switched to this brand recently (the other brand of grow light only lasted for a short period of time). So far so good. It works for my indoor flower plants. The only drawback is that the light is expensive. I'll update my review again later on, because I would like to make sure that the light could last as long as it stated.

This bulb was not my first choice, given that it produces a light which is purple in color. This makes it hard for me to tell when plant leaves are discoloring due to heat, overwatering, too much light, fertilizing, or other issues. But this is a well-constructed bulb! Its aluminum heat-sink foils are very nice and professional. My husband who designs and fixes electronics for a living could make an LED bulb for me, but the heat-dissipation structure would be difficult for him, especially if I want it to look as neat and pretty as this one.This bulb is more energy-efficient than the LED bulbs I had been using for my indoor garden. They are usually 300 Watt equivalents (actually consuming 35-40 W). So they may be brighter, but this one is supposedly a better spectrum.I like this bulb because it is quite a lot cooler than the regular, round household LED bulbs made to replace incandescents. This one is not exactly instant-on, meaning it takes a split second before it comes on but there's not the annoying buzz and warm-up period that larger CFL bulbs required. Plus it uses much less energy (wattage) than the long CFL bulbs I had been using. This bulb is also more compact so it doesn't stick out by a few inches past the lamp shade.Update May 2019 - I didn’t like the color of this bulb but it is indeed a better spectrum for plant growth! Check out my Before and After pictures of a plush plant (Echeveria harmsii). After 2-3 months under the MILYN grow light, you can see it developed denser leaves and the tips are magenta!! Even though I had the plant outside in full sun during the summer, it never managed to get the attractive red tips like it had when I purchased it.A few months on, it's even exploded in flowers all over! See 3rd picture, with red arrows denoting flowers and/or buds. And those are just the ones that are visible in that view. Again, having this plant in the summer sun for nearly 6 months last year never managed to give me these results.I’m very excited by this development and am sold on these bulbs. Yes, working under them makes me a little dizzy, especially if I have to focus on small things in the purple light but the results have been worth it.

This bulb's LEDs emit a purple light, so if you're looking for a plant light to use in a room you plan to be in, then maybe opt for something more aesthetically pleasing like white light. If you're not planning on being around the purple light enough for it to annoy you, then this light is perfect. Although it's too bright for me to check, all the LEDs appear to be functioning.
