The 21st Century Crossword Puzzle Dictionary

I purchased this crossword dictionary primarily for the lists of 'stuff' it contains. I have a perfectly acceptable crossword dictionary that is many years old but doesn't have the most up-to-date Oscar winners, US open champs and so on. This 21st Century Crossword Dictionary is great for charts, lists and new word updates and brings me into the, well, 21st century. The book is a bit bulkier than I'm used to, fairly large, about 6 X 8, I imagine and pretty thick. It also doesn't have the comprehensive meanings, synonyms and alternatives as some other crossword dictionaries. I'll keep my old dictionary handy, but do find the 21st Century Dictionary to be a useful and helpful tool.

I had been meaning to get a new Crossword Dictionary for a long time. When I read the reviews for The 21st Century, I decided this was the one for me. It has been very helpful with filling in the few blanks I have not been able to solve on my own. Mostly names and titles (I'm not very good with those). Since this book is current it covers most everybody that is asked for in the puzzles. I would recommend this book for anyone who likes crosswords.

WE like crossword puzzles. Unfortunately, we lost our favorite dictionary in the 2012 ND flood. We kept promising that we would find another -- well, really 2 more.. one for me and HE. I saw this soft back larger print one and the price was so good that I could not resist it. Not only that but I bought 3 others! Now we need 2 copies of the newspaper.

Didn’t think I would like the larger book size, but it is actually easier to use. This volume replaced a well used earlier version that literally fell apart. Much more complete coverage of crosswords than other dictionaries I have tried to use!

It's a little difficult to use this dictionary... I think I'm finally getting the hang of it but I almost sent it back..

I purchased this for my mother (an avid puzzler) for Christmas. She absolutely loves it! She says that it is very useful and informational. The only reason I gave this product 4 stars is because it took forever to arrive! But other than that, I have no complaints about this product.

I use this book a lot for my puzzles, and while it was very, very, good, I wish I had got the one with an even larger lsting of words. At various times, the word I am looking for is just not in the dictionary. But it's good..

This crossword dictionary is a great buy for anyone who does a lot of crosswords. There are up to date pop culture references, great lists and even an index at that end which tells what lists are included. The most used clues are highlighted. I am definitely glad I purchased this dictionary. I have The Million Word Crossword Dictionary which is a nice crossword dictionary but does not include the comprehensive lists that this dictionary contains.

I bought this as a birthday gift for a friend who does crosswords all the time; it seemed to offer a great deal of assistance and certainly helped me find a gift for someone who's really difficult to buy for!

The copy I received is stained and the cover is damaged. It's a used book, sure, but "like new" is quite a stretch.

あたらしいクロスワード辞典の誕生を歓迎し、作者に感謝します。確かに、この本が言うように、実際のクロスワードの問題に出題されなかった単語をいくらたくさん並べても、クロスワードを解くための辞書としては、あまり意味がない。その点、この辞書はクロスワードを解くために集中し、いろいろな工夫がしてある。一番関連が深い単語は赤字で印刷されている。クロスワード辞典としては、最初の２色刷り？やや難易度の高い問題を得のに実際使用してみて、十分効果がありました。ただ、この辞書だけがあれば、ほかの辞書は不要かというと、そうでもないと思います。わたしは、今まで使ってきた「The Million Word Crossword Dictinary」も、併用して使っていくつもりです。クロスワードフアンのすべての方に、この「The 21st Century Crossword Puzzle Dictionary」を強くお勧めします。
