I bought this product because I have a big bushy (drk brn to black) beard , but like most , the area around my mouth where the beard reaches my lips is a little thinner than I wanted it to be , so instead of using my female friends eyebrow pencil I just decided to buy this and keep it as a arsenal in my cabinet for those times were I wanna look extra edged up if you know what I mean. I found that you naturally want to draw in your beard horizontal, but this is it for drawing in a beard it’s just for getting those little problem areas where it grows in a little bit sparse. Short vertical strokes to mimic the hair pattern I found makes it look most realistic and blends in with the rest of your beard for a polished look . thumbs up. oh, and it has a built-in pencil sharpener in the lid.

I use this to line up my beard and keep it sharp. It is a good quality pencil and I like that the top is also a sharpener. I do think however that it is a bit too soft and find myself sharpening it quite often. I would like it to last a bit more.

When you want to your lines crisp and neat. There's no need to draw a line, simply dab lightly then brush. I usually use the edgers to take care of the lines that may become uneven. I have become sweaty and walked in the rain while using this and did not experience any smudges. It is a good addition to maintain a neat appearance between barber visits. Take the time to develop your own technique.
