Top Quality But Expensive
These loppers are top quality in every aspect, but really no better than my Corona loppers at half the cost (4 stars because of the price). If I was a professional landscaper and pruned trees for 4+ hours/day, these would be my go to loppers because of the excellent handle recoil bumpers. But for the homeowner or backyard gardener, Coronas will fit the bill. I've used my Coronas on rock-hard Arizona mesquite trees for years and they're still hard at work.

sharp and lightweight, totally worth every penny
I have a palm tree and like to cut the browning fronds quickly while it's young and i can still reach them as they turn brown. My wife and I went back and forth about this and other cheaper models... I wanted to try a less expensive brand with ratcheting action, she promised me this would be better. She was right. It cuts through things within its specifications like butter... it'd take off a human finger like it was plucking a seed from a dandelion, so be careful!I can use it to cut things that are much larger if I apply enough force. The mouth is wide and will hold a lot.The shock system is actually pretty nice. it's got some good bounce, so it's different... you can go slow while applying just a little force for things that are within the width it says. The woody palm fronds are like butter to this thing.I've used it for my neighbor's peach trees and I can get through a branch a little smaller than my wrist. It took some effort, but I was still able to do it while standing on a ladder (not recommended).Probably a customer for life and only purchase their products for any kind of cutting needs, but I expect these are going to last a long long time.... i do recommend lubing the blades when you first get it to keep it rust free. don't leave any dirt on it after you use it, don't leave the blades on the ground, etc. just take care of it.

ARS . . . the BEST
I will never buy another cutting tool that is not made by ARS. Japanese steel. Sharp. They just work . . . period. Why can't American companies produce quality tools? Good question.

Super sharp jaws and great stable handles.
Super sharp jaw. No more crunching or just crushing the branch and having to yank on it. I've cut back my neighbor's palm tree about a million times. It's up over my head and I have to grab a bit of it and pull it towards me to get a good bite. My old loppers always crushed the palm leaves so I had you yank and saw at them. This guy goes through like butter. I'd like to see an adjustable handle version too but this one is very stable and does not bend on larger branches. Great addition to the shed.

Great Loppers
Been buying cheap loppers for decades. Finally decided I should consider a quality tool for a change. I did the research and this one was highly rated. I can see why. Japanese quality, lightweight, strong, well-designed. What's not to like? Probably the last lopper I'll ever buy.

This tool is excellent for gardening, I’m glad I bought it and I can replace the blades.
I liked the sharpness, the fact that it is lightweight. But I didn’t like the way the blades stain so easily.

ARS Loppers are great
I've had a pair of ARS hand pruners for a couple of years. They have been the best I have ever owned, by far. When my Corona loppers wore out 2 months ago, I replace them with ARS orchard loppers. So far they have live up to my expectations.

It reached and it's leverage and sharpness cut through the branch like butter. Brilliant
Just what I wanted, they're light, sharp and powerful. The first thing I cut was a branch of a bourganvilla that was about 40cm thick growing out of the precarious bank beneath my terrace and not accessible from the path below. It reached and it's leverage and sharpness cut through the branch like butter. Brilliant. Anything growing in the wrong place or direction is now in serious jeopardy!!!

Quality !
Quality ! these lopers are solid light and very well made, steel in the cutting jaws is top quality as you would expect from a top Japanese company, tried these out on arrival and have never had lopers this good, and that is coming from someone who used items like this professionally for many years, I did have a pair of Felco lopers this size and very good they were, but they cost twice the price ?Just a note, as a plus they arrived with a free pair of ARS snips, not advertised with these ? but well received anyway.
