25 AA Tokens/Medallions - 1 Roll of 24 Hour Aluminum Chips Commemorative Medallion for Beginners

I'm very happy with these coins. They are lightweight and sturdy....and very shiny.I bought them to give to newcomers.In the beginning Sister Ignatia handed out chips to guys who were leaving the hospital after they had dried out for 5 day. She told them that if they accepting the chip they were committing to staying sober for 24 hours...and they they were going to drink they had to come back and return the chip to her. I don't know how effective that was, but I do recognize that a person who makes a commitment - who shows an earnest desire - tend to do more to keep it. In the following years many groups adopted a '24 hour' chip as a Desire chip.Here in my neck of the woods. We start with a "Welcome" chip. (Orange)I wanted to have something more grounding in Now to give to people. I talk to them and tell them that even though I have long term sobriety, I can only do it 24 hours at a time. I can't take back yesterday and I can't do anything about tomorrow. I have to live in this 24 hours. I show them the chip and then look them in the eye. I ask them if they want sobriety in this 24 hours. Each have said yes. I give them the chip and tell them to remember.

I was really happy to find these at a great price compared to our local source.

Nice to have on hand for newbies or those celebrating.

If you need these, then this is a fine option. At the quantity these come in, You might find them cheaper from another source but not by much. If you needed higher numbers I wouldn't buy them like this

The youth I work with think these coins are a great reminder of the work they put into the Chemical Dependency portion of their program.

Got these to keep "just incase" we ran out & needed some in a pinch. The picture provided makes them look gold even though they are described as aluminum; THEY ARE SILVER in color :) Exactly what I needed!

It looks like they are cast using the same mold that isn’t cleaned often enough. Great product for the cost however.
