Great fun - hasn't broken despite rough play
I was concerned by the negative reviews but my boy really wanted this for his birthday so with some trepidation I bought it for him. I'm happy to report that it hasn't broken yet depsite a younger sibling knocking it around a bit.Overall I think it's a great remote controlled toy for a younger child because the controls are very simple and it's geared at a sensibly slow speed so it can easily be driven in an indoor space like a living room. It's also quite large and powerful so that it can climb over obstacles and up slopes. In my experience RC cars don't get much play from younger children becuase they are frustrating to control. Dozer Racer only needs two buttons to drive - one turns left (on the spot), one turns right, and you hold both to go forward. I believe the makers of this toy have actually put some thought into how a younger child would play with the toy, the simplified controls I mentioned, and also the transformation feature seems to hold their attention. As other reviews note - if you interupt the vehicle during the transformation it freezes and you have to tun it off and on again. My view is that this would really irritate an adult but my child does not seem bothered by it at all, he perhaps just sees it as part of the game. It's fairly priced so while it stays working I'll give it 5 stars. If it does break down in the future I'll update the review.

Kids love it!
Bought this for my 2 year old as a Christmas Present, however my 5 year old seems to love it and has played with it every day since Christmas. Seems solid construction and easy to use. Can drive over things nicely with it. It does seem to get through batteries quickily, we are on its 3rd set already - but we are using cheap batteries and it is being used a lot!

Faulty product!
This product is faulty. I brought this item as a Christmas gift for my 4 year old son who saw it on TV as I was due to be away from my family over the Christmas period. This item is fault in the sense that it repeatedly just stops working within a minute of being switched on. Have tried using different more expensive batteries but still the error occurs. Needless to say my little boy is very sad as he is unable to use what is clearly a faulty product.

It's Okay, but frustrating.
I wanted to like this so much more, but the main unit struggles to switch between each mode and if it stops halfway the whole unit stops and you need to turn the car and the remote control off. That said when it is going it's quite good fun. My little boy has yet to put his Robot Train down and give this one the time it deserves. Great idea but better execution of the switch from dozed to car required. It gobbles batteries up, but you kind of expect that for a kiddie toy.

It was a great gift
I was concerned as a lot of people said the batteries did not last long. So I stocked up and went on to order this. This was a complete hit for my grandson. So glad I purchased it and he has endless amounts of fun. Easy for my 21/2 year old to use and get the hang of the controls. Fantastic toy

REMOVE ALL TIES AND TAPE BEFORE USE...ESPECIALLY THE NOSE TAPE.
Awesome little car...wouldn't transform and kept dropping signal while trying to transform...I noticed a clear piece of tape on the tip of the race car...removed the tape and the car works perfectly...it will lose signal if the transformation is interrupted, but hardly ever does...GREAT BUY! THE CHILDREN LOVE IT!!!

Fun RC toy for Toddlers
I like this RC toy because the controller is super simple for toddlers. The toy itself seems to be holding up so far. My 4 year old nephew tends to do well with his toys and we have not experienced any of the sticking issues during transformation from one thing to the other. Packaging is great and has a little handle on top. I saw this toy priced as high at $39.99 and while I do like the toy and feel it is of great quality, I do not think it's worth $40. Catch it on a sale or deal if possible.

Great for little hands better if it worked more
Got this as a Christmas gift for our 2.5 year old that always wants his dad's hobby grade RC but the controls are too big and he doesn't quite have the concept down. Not to mention there is the whole too fast for his wild style lolThat's where the idea of this toy is great. Controller is perfect for tiny hands. It doesn't have a "steering wheel" like most. It has 2 forward arrows that when one is pushed by itself will cause the vehicle to turn. This is where it can get a little confusing because depending on if you choose the dozer or the racecar as to if the arrow on the left will make the vehicle go left, vice versa. But hey littles are always going and I found prior to this that he was always getting stuck against something. With this you simply go to the other vehicle choice that isn't "stuck" and simply drive away. Can either stay in that mode or switch back to the other simple as the push of a button in the center of the controller. Speed on this is variant of surface and also which mode it's in. The racecar has a little zip especially on like hardwood floors. Then the dozer has a little slower go but still not too slow to get bored with it. Where it's always on tracks instead of tires it goes great on carpet too.My biggest let down with this us that it loses communication far too often. Like the vehicle and controller quit working together. Sometimes a simple off and back on of the controller gets them on the move again and sometimes it's more complicated. You will have to turn off the vehicle and controller then both back on. Sometimes that cycle more than once in a row and sometimes it only stays working a few seconds. Yes they both have brand new batteries and will do this.Either way my little guy and big guy seem to really enjoy it. If we could get that glitch under control it would be even more fantastic. I'm still trying to contact little tikes in hopes of getting an idea on a permanent fix. If I can make contact I will update.
