Like a reader's Bible, but with verse numbers
I really like the single column format. I find it easier to read. I originally had a reader's Bible, but the lack of verse numbers made it hard to use in practical church life. I bought a single column ESV Bible, but then the pages were so thin the text would bleed through. This one is perfect! The pages are thick enough that they don't bleed but thin enough that the Bible itself isn't super thick.

All I was hoping for in my next Bible.
The line matching makes for an easy reading experience and the cover is so comfortable for holding. Let this be your next Bible!

A modern Bible
Thsi style of Bible is more like reading a book that was recently written. I do not get bogged down in the formalities of the 16th century English language.

This is better than the Premier edition
I like this bible more than its Premier edition. The imitation leather is stiffer and it has a superior texture that keeps it from sliding around in my hand. The gold gilding is just plain gold, not the "art-gilt" type that the Premier has, but that is to be expected in a bible in this price range. The text layout and paper quality of this edition are identical to its more expensive sibling, and it even features a sewn binding (I confirmed this with the publisher before ordering it). Unlike the Premier edition, however, it is not "edge-lined," but it is still sturdy enough to last a long time with proper care. There are a couple of minor blemishes on the gilt pages, but I doubt that many people would consider them a problem. The ribbon markers are nothing special; the Premier has more of them and they are of a higher quality. These issues are the reason that I deducted one star from my rating. The bottom line: I see no compelling reason to spend twice the price for the Premier edition.
