It's the Intel Story
My daughter gifted to me this book and she purchased this from Amazon. It is indeed a fascinating book chronicling the history of Intel and how it became the “most valuable” or most important” company in the world. The author, Michael Malone of the book “The Intel Trinity” tell us as to how its founders Robert Noyce, Gordan Moore and Andy Grove teamed together to build this company. The author narrates individual stories of Robert Noyce, Gordon Moore and Andy Grove, their background and their circumstances that brought them together to form this great company. The book has interesting anecdotes from the life of Intel founders, besides the challenges it had to face to make Intel synonymous with computer chip manufacturing. Most interestingly the author Michael Malone also tells the evolution of computer chip and how Intel innovating at every stage, had to beat its competitors to stay ahead in the race to remain a relevant in the business. It’s a wonderful read and as Steve Jobs mentions on the back cover of the book that “Anyone who wants to know how creativity leads to invention should read this wonderful book’.

the soft spoken technological genius ( founder of the Moore's law ) and Any Groove( author of Only the Paranoid Survive) the bus
Anyone even remotely connected with the semiconductor industry should read this definitive guide of how Intel Corp becomes the most important company of the digital age, silicon valley and its impact on humanity.A combination of three unlikely technocrats who came together from Fair child Semiconductor and then founded Intel...the trinity of Bob Noyce know for his vision and jaw dropping risk taking ability, Gordon Moore , the soft spoken technological genius ( founder of the Moore's law ) and Any Groove( author of Only the Paranoid Survive) the business Wizard with super human energy is stuff of legends. The defining moments when Bob Noyce co-invented the Integrated circuit ( had be been alive in 2000 he would have got a noble prize for the same) , the creation of the revolutionary 8086 Intel microprocessor which powered millions of computers in the 80s and last the greatest hitech marketing campaign of the century which is Intel Inside for the pentium chip is beautifully detailed out.As with most businesses complacency and fatigue seems to have crept in and Intel has been caught on the wrong foot with nothing really worthwhile to contribute in the mobile era and have lost the game to more nimble companies from Korea and the Valley itself.Nevertheless great corporations dont die away easily and are known to comeback with even more greater products and intel with its technological prowess is capable of doing it .

Intel through the life and times of trinity
Considering the number of pages, I am reading 3 stars. This book clearly explains the story of Intel from the Fairchild semiconductor days. It also has lots of personal details of the trinity - Noyce, Moore and Grove. For me its has got lots of unnecessary personal information. Good read if you have enough time or you could skip pages. It has lots of information not seen elsewhere.

I wasn’t sure about buying this book, but sure glad I did. Very well written didn’t get to technical and got into the personalities of the Trinity. All different personalities that created the biggest company in the world! This book also helped me understand how the digital age started.Loved it!

Intel's Foundational Book
This is a fascinating, independent writing about the foundations of Intel corporation through the primary founders. Probably no other text does Intel justice in describing the company's formation and it's culture than this one. Amazing glimpse into it's persona and transformation throughout nearly 50 years of existence.Updated after reflection and reading the one "negative review"...The negative review posted on Amazon is 100% accurate with respect to Malone's organization and his use of data. Malone could have done a better job in that respect. However, the book is about the people and their personas. The book certainly covers less of the last 20 years as the reviewer pointed out. I wanted to find out more about the people and in this respect Michael did a very nice job- other than Moore's mentorship of Grove, it was very difficult to penetrate into Gordon's character.I'd be interested in what the current Intel CEO- Brian Krzanich - would like to see written in the next phase of the life of Intel.

A Company biography
To me this book is most and foremost an excellent example of a company biography and I'd be eager to read more books like this about the story of a company rather than more books about the single successful individuals. If there's one book about entrepreneurship I would want my children to read it would be this one because:1) While the title focuses on the three man who founded the company the content actually is complete with many other characters that at different stages played a role in Intel.2) This book a fantastic document on how such an impressive company develops from the contribution of many individuals and how there are many environment, historical and technology factors that do play an important role.3) It illustrates to some decent/good degree of detail the hard choices and decision the team faced over time giving an idea of what running a business is like.4) As the analysis spans approximately 50 years of company lifetime it's an extraordinary long term analysis that can't be found in business books.5) It tells about these 3 prominent men highlighting how they were brilliant but not super humans or heroes.6) I find it an interesting account of how companies and corporations are de facto part of determining modern history.

Good Intel History Primer
An interesting book that covers a great deal of history. The intersection of Moore, Noyce and Grove underlines the history of Intel and to a lessor extent Fairchild Semiconductor. Malone does a good job of tying the three men together and showing how their differing attitudes made Intel stronger - by striking a unique balance between them. It is one of the few books that tries to get a handle on Gordon Moore as something besides the creator of "Moore's Law." It is also one of the few books that speaks to the softer side of Andy Grove. It is a good starting point for anyone looking at how any firm can succeed or fail depending on the whims of the industry, no matter how strong.
