Great book, perfect size!!
I loved the story and features of this book when I first saw it in the original, larger version at a friend's baby shower. Now that I have another little one, I wanted her to be able to enjoy this cute book as well. I love the colorful ribbon feature that creates the rainbow with each turn of the page and the pop-up rainbow at the end. I have a 10 month old and love to be able to hold her and read books that fit in our hands easily. This smaller version is the perfect size!!This book has all the great features of the original, larger, hard-back book but is perfect for little hands and perfect for holding your little one for story time. You will love the cute story of the bunny asking his friends what makes a rainbow, while teaching your child colors as well. I have not had an issue with the ribbons or the pop-up feature becoming damaged and try to show my child to touch lightly without pulling on them. As long as you allow each ribbon to fold back into the book in the middles (which is not difficult), you will not have an issue. So happy to have found this smaller book!!

Very Clever Accurate Book
The book is very sturdy and clever, with more ribbons of the rainbow's colors appearing sequentially, at the turn of each page, until the entire rainbow is revealed. The bunny and prose are very cute too. I was so excited about the book that I researched others in the "Magic Ribbon" series, but the music spinoff appears to have been a flop, as the electronic chip often broke in transit, rendering the concept unworkable. It would be great if this author could conceive of yet another story.

Great Read!
I initially borrowed this book from the library but enjoyed reading it with my toddler so much that I had to add it to our home library. I love how the ribbons show up on each new page and how vibrant the colors are. It's not just a book about colors it tells a simple story that my toddler loves.

Geared towards very young readers
The item description said that this book was intended for readoers ages 4-8, but I when I recieved this in the mail I found that it is very basic, and way to simple for my 6 year old. I was hoping for a scientific description of what makes a rainbow, but all this book does is describe the colors. It's a well made book, but is definitely for young readers looking for a bedtime story, not something educational.

Interesting, but the ribbons often stick out between the pages
This book is fun and my daughter likes to touch and pull on the ribbons on the pages. The ribbons make up a rainbow and then on the last page there is a pop-up cardboard rainbow. On each page, the story has a young bunny asking other animals what colors makes up a rainbow. So the first page has only one colored ribbon, and then each page adds another ribbon until you get to the last page. There is a slot on the pages for the ribbon to thread through. The illustrations look a little dated, but each animal looks enough like the real animal for my 19-month old to recognize. The book is interesting but my daughter seems to want to just pull the ribbons, so I have to really protect the book so as to keep the ribbons on the pages. The ribbons also tend to slip over one another so you have to make it "nice" as you get to each page. Lastly, the ribbons tend to stick out of the book when you close it, unless you use your finger to hold them inside. When they stick out, it is very tempting for my daughter to yank on the ribbon.Overall, I like this book. My daughter has completly ripped apart the Baby Einstein flip-flap book of colors, so with this book, I am making efforts to keep it in one piece. It is on her bookshelf which is accessible to her, so when she takes it out, I read it to her and she turns the pages. It teaches colors and if you point out the things on the page as well as the color of the things, it can be educational.

Helped Us Learn Our Colors
I got this book for my daughter when she was about 16 months old. I was already teaching her colors, but seeing this book was exciting for her and really progressed her learning. It's very inventive and is super fun to read. She is now just over 2 years old and still loves to read it.

Check the book immediately!
The rainbow was torn off from the back. I just found out as I gave the gift to a child.
