Kaigelu 316 Acrylic Fountain Pen Medium Nib with Ink Converter - Gray Swirl Pattern Writing Pen

I have to agree with other reviews about how well this pen looks and feels. It’s very attractive and feels quite sturdy. For the price, the nib is high quality. The pen writes “wet” which is beneficial for script, but not so much for detailed drawing. I’m experiencing the occasional skip, but I anticipate that with more use and nib cleaning this will no longer be an issue. This is the only reason that I didn’t give it five stars, and again, this might improve with time. I have no trouble recommending this fountain pen. It is not often that one can get such a nice pen for so little money.

This is a nice pen, long, weighty, the colors are a bit more muted than the photo indicates. It looks like a calico cat's fur. Plus,what doesn't show in the photo is the soft pearlescent sheen over all the barrel that makes it look like gemstone. It's MUCH nicer in the hand than in the photo. Upon filling the pen I found the converter a bit lazy, it took four or five plunges to get the converter even close to capacity. I suspect I"ll be replacing it some time. But it works. It's a heavy pen, like the Duke Bamboo, which I love. I like a nice hefty pen in my hand. It's also long. The metal appointments are goldtone which compliments the calico colors perfectly. the cap screws on securely enough. It posts well. Upon writing with it, I found the nib a bit scratchy for a medium but not terribly so, as to make me avoid using it altogether. I don't know how ink tight it ultimately is, that will take a couple of weeks letting it lie around I guess. But I am very pleased with it's shape, size, and appearance. It writes without skipping, (so far) and regular use will inform me about that characteristic in time. I look forward to testing this handsome tool.

Hard to do better at the cost. Feels good and looks good. A fine alternative to pricier fountain pens.

The photo does absolutely no justice to the amber pen. I do not normally use a medium nib, but I liked the look of this one so much that I got it. It does actually write a little finer than other medium nibs. For ink I am using Monteverde Canyon Rust, another gorgeous color. It took a while for the ink to start flowing. I deducted a star because it does not write reliably on smooth paper. It works well on paper with a stronger tooth. On smooth paper the pen tends to skip. I thought about swapping the nib, but I like the design of the kangaroo on the two-tone. This is so pretty, so it is a keeper!

The acrylic finish is very nice. All the details feel very well made. My only disappointment is it writes more like a Medium nib than a Fine nib. Very wet writer. I'll just adapt and choose this pen when I want a medium. I really like the build and weight - very solidly made pen.

I love extra fine nibs, and I own a bunch of them. This one is as smooth and fine as some I have that cost ten times as much.

Pen feels good in my hand, but I like a larger pen with some heft to it. It writes very well and the nib is pretty good right out of the box. The material it is made of is good. The only issue is that it will not draw a complete fill. It will draw about 3/4. But I really like it and it writes as well as a lot of very expensive pens.

Excellent value. One of my favorites among others which cost much more.
