I love this product
SO COMFY TO HOLD! I love this product. I have an electric can opener, but oddly enough I don't like to use it for certain things. Tuna cans, for instance. The electric opener slices off the lid around the outer edge, leaving the lid too big to then insert on top of the tuna to drain it. I'm a creature of habit, and I've been doing that my whole life. SO, when my hand-held veggie peeler finally bit the dust, I had to buy a new one. I wondered if I could get away without having to spend an arm and a leg on a simple hand-held peeler. I saw this one, and love KitchenAid products (I own a KitchenAid toaster AND a KitchenAid coffeemaker and a few other utensils). I purchased it, and I just say that I feel a bit goofy being excited about a peeler, but this is the most comfortable-to-hold peeler I've ever used in my life. Its round edges and smooth surface make it almost feel invisible when you hold it. And the functionality of it is flawless. Peels easily and quickly. Thank you once again KitchenAid for a stellar product. I couldn't be happier.

Great peeler.
Best peeler there is, hands down. I've used different peelers over the years, and this one from KitchenAid is the best. It is easy to grip, fits comfortably in my hand, and (most important) peels very well (potatoes, carrots, beets, ginger root, etc.). I have another peeler, in this model, that it is 10 years old and it still works amazingly well. I wanted a second one to have in the kitchen for the times when my first one is in the dishwasher.I purchased an OXO Good Grips Swivel Peeler a while back and hated it. Although it was more comfortable to hold than this peeler from KitchenAid, the peel was "rough" and the peeler didn't glide over the veggies very well. So, I purchased another KitchenAid peeler as my back-up.The only thing I wish they would add to this peeler are: 1) a soft handle like the Oxo one; and 2) an "eyer" (the thing that gets "eyes" out of potatoes).

The best and only vegetable peeler I will use
The best and only vegetable peeler I will use. I accidentally threw mine away and went to so many stores looking for a replacement and couldn't find something I liked. All of the other peelers I saw were flimsy or dangerous as the blade was completely exposed. I ended up ordering one online to replace my old one. I love how sturdy this peeler is and I feel very safe using it. The blade doesn't stick out like other peelers and I'm not afraid of poking myself with it while reaching for it in my drawer.

Great peeler
My family has a bad habit of buying inexpensive tools.. (scissors that don't cut, peelers that don't peel)... I decided to toss all of that junk and get some quality tools for my kitchen.... I was tired of fighting with a darned peeler that clogged or didn't cut well. I was spending too much time on each vegetable (especially cucumbers and apples), so I researched vegetable peelers. That might seem anal, however just think about the amount of time that you can spend fighting with a darned peeler.... that you resort to a knife just to get it done and end up with a small amount of whatever and a huge rind. This vegetable peeler had very good reviews (on the internet), so I got it along with another that had good reviews. I am very happy with this peeler. My 10-year-old grandson got to peel apples. He had used the old peeler and was not too keen on using this, however he was quite happy (as happy as a 10 year-old boy can be when given this chore) and he said that he is ready to keep making Waldorf salads or anything else that has a fruit/vegetable that needs to be peeled. It did not clog and glided right through those apples. I think I will get him to eat more vegetables by allowing him to peel them. It is not as comfortable to hold as the rubber-handled OXO, but peels as well.

I don't mind peeling potatoes now
I used this peeler while visiting our son. It worked so great I ordered one when I got home. My old peeler is close to 50 years old. It is similar but doesn't have the comfort grip. I think the main difference is that the new one is sharp. You will not have to put a death grip on whatever you are peeling to get it peeled. That helps with those of us seniors that have some grip issues. I've bragged about it to all my friends.

Can't get any more fancy and still be a manual
This met all expectations. I have had two other peelers prior to this one, the classic metal frame one at the 99 cent store and the 3 dollar one at the blue box store. 99 cent one was junk from the get go but lasted years because who thinks about replacing a potato peeler? Blue box one lasted a few months but was awkward to hold, dulled, and felt junkier than the 99 cent one. So with that in mind I decided to buy a fancy one off amazon. This thing is awesome. It works. It doesn't have to be at the right angle or with just the right pressure. My hands don't get tired or cramp when I have to peel 5 or 6 potatoes. Plus it makes short work of them. It seems much more efficient with every stroke. I get more work done with less effort. I don't use this all the time or even weekly. But when I do use it there isn't the dread of an arduous chore ahead. It's just swipe and go now. This would make a great mothers day gift as long as you don't mind peeling for the rest of eternity, and you won't since it's so easy now!

Love Kitchen Aid!
Great product! After getting my standing mixer, I have been a huge fan of their product. It's sturdy and for the time I've had it, it has been just as good as the first day I used it! Also, love that it is dishwasher safe.
