Good Product and easy to use Had a Honda 215 mower in my basement for years decide d to find out why it was given to me people usually don't give these away I probably knew back then just forgot away got it out and started it knew that something was wrong this thing was wide open and then some so I set the Governor and checked the springs restarted it did not help sounded like to me it speeded it some so I decided to check speed and my RPM gauge was missing so I bought this one two days it was here so I read the instructions wrapped the lead five times around plug wire started the mower and it was running at 4800 RPMs shut it down quickly so I knew some had bent the Governor Arm so after bended the Arm got the speed down within Specs 2950 to 3300 with this meter set it at 3200 the mower ran find so this RPM Gauge worked Great did not have to do anything to Gauge except take the plastic off of battery and turn it on the default is set for engines that count every fire of plug signal Cylinder Mowers, Chainsaw, Trimmers for the money it's worth it I need another one to install on my Riding Mower to keep up with the hours it has ran for maintenance and don't forget the log splitter it needs one to, It's a Good little tool to have in you Tool Box ya'll it will help you save money that's what it's all about.

Good Little Tach
Naturally, this isn't good for every use case, and isn't good for every mounting need (I had a slight bit of trouble with this), but even so, even if I had to "make do", I'd do it every time. This little unit is a rather impressive one, I've used it on 2 motorized bicycles so far to make sure the rpm I'm "hearing" is the rpm the engine is turning out, and it works extremely well for that purpose. The accuracy is great, especially for the tethering mechanism it employs (literally a doubled wire to wrap around the spark plug cable), it has a sheer abundance of engine configuration settings (even measures rpm for V12s!), can be used in the dark, and the battery is easy to find in stores and isn't too quick to drain (unless you leave the backlight on all the time). For it's small amount of shortcomings (that might not even be an issue, depending on your usage scenario), it's a good little tach that I won't hesitate to buy again.

Works great. Eats batteries.
I bought this to check RPM on chainsaws and small engines. No need to wrap the wire around the spark plug lead... it will pick up the pulses just fine by dangling the wire bundle near the high tension spark plug lead/cap. Very accurate, checking generators with either a frequency meter or this tach, they both agree with each other. My only complaint is this unit eats batteries... I always turn it off when I'm not using it, I don't use the backlight, and I'm already on my 3rd battery since I bought this.

Does what I want it to do.
This product worked fine out of the box. The battery has a protective plastic cover so you’ll need to remove that to energize the meter. Overall very easy to install, just follow the directions. Large display is easy to read and the backlight is strong. Accuracy seemed ok based on I knew what RPM the engine is tuned for and the meter reflected that. This was installed on a Suzuki DR650 and fits well on the bar mounts as shown in the pic.

Works great
I use it only when I do maintenance on my Harley sportster, I adjust the idle and it sounds correct.

Battery a problem
Bought this for a riding lawn mower.... installed easy. Problem is that the battery dies frequently.... has to be manually turned off, but battery still doesn't last long.

It works!!
Bought this Searon Small Engine Tachometer Hour Meter inductive Tachometer for Outboard Engine Chain Saw for my 1994 KX500. I made the mistake of wrapping the wire back on itself toward the end of the wire because I had extra length and therefore when I started my bike up it read 2x the actual rpms, but, thanks to it's ability to be set for such things, I didn't even have to re-wire it, I just chose a different setting. The instructions are followable, which isn't always the case with products mfd outside the US. I haven't thoroughly used it yet so not sure on longevity. I will say, it does not turn off automatically, which would be nice. You have to turn it off manually. That being said, battery life seems to hold up pretty well considering I left it on for probably weeks and it still had life left. So far, I recommend it as a buy.

Nice, easy to use tachometer.
This tachometer is very easy to install on a motorcycle and even comes with a battery. I can only assume that the reading is somewhat accurate as I don’t have any way to check it. You can reset certain timers but not the total hours on the engine. Only one caveat to be aware of: if you wash the bike, pull this tachometer off of the handlebars or wherever (which is easy because of the Velcro) and seal it up as best you can in a plastic bag. This is my third one. The first two got water inside while washing the bike and that was the end of those. Nice little tach though.
