I've genuinely used Brother products since owning their compact typewriters... The printer is superb for sure. The drum and toner unit is good. The original toner that came with the printer gave a yield of around 900 pages on toner save mode... I purchased the original replacement in July that promised me 2600 pages... unfortunately it fails to deliver and the toner was empty (using toner save mode again) within 900 pages... I have now installed the third genuine toner... but to hope it will deliver 2600 pages is futile. Disappointed by deceptive marketing from a company that I trusted for many years.The bottom line: If you want hassle free, non-jamming performance, the genuine toners are the only way to go... at a high cost of printing unfortunately.

Prints are good

Beware that the Brother cartridges are at high risk of being counterfeits with very low quality toner powder with faint printing.The problem is that Brother does not bother to affix any genuine label to the catridge itself, rather, it places it on the cardboard box. The cartridge itself does not any any label, or sticker or any other hologram to indicated that it is genuine.I got a counterfeit toner that was far worse than the compatible toner cartridges one can get for under 800 Rupees. The box was opened and the original swapped with counterfeit low quality cartridge and sealed again. The hologram sticker on the box is original, but the cartridge inside is a obvious fake.Brother does not bother with countering fakes in the market. It indicates that as customers we have to be aware and avoid such solutions which we cannot trust fully and will have to gamble our money with.Avoid costly Brother original supplies, instead get cheap compatibles - if they don't work well, your loss will be minimal.

No matter the cost, one should only buy this - the original toner. DO NOT ever go for the alternatives / fake ones. No matter what they say or how much output they give per Rs., in the long run, they will depreciate your printer much faster. Please only go for this toner for your Brother printer. It is very very costly, I know, but it is better than ruining your product. Results are perfect.Output is less than 2000 pages in my case. 2600 is just an ideal scenario, not realistic for most people.

Meeting our expectations.

I bought my printer new last year, and after the ink cartridge that came with the printer finished, I did what I always did with my previous printer: I bought a cheaper, compatible ink cartridges for my new printer. What a regret! Not only did all printouts come out very dark, soon black lines appeared on the sides and paper started jamming regularly. This time I again choose for an original Brother ink cartridge, and the quality of the printouts went back to normal. Also the paper jamming has again stopped. Lesson learned. From now on, I will stick with original Brother ink cartridges only.
