Dorfman PacificMen's Wool Felt Hat

*This is NOT a pa*id review* So trust me when I say the following☺The Size: It is closer to a fedora than a trilby. The brim is sufficient enough to cover your eyes from a medium low to high sun (Which is what most likely you will face.) The pinched top adds nice character to the overall style.The material: It is made out of a good quality felt-wool for this price point. You will not be disappointed. The construction seems sturdy and reliable. I believe it would prove helpful in fall and winter more so than in summers as the material is warm enough to keep your head from getting too cold. The inside is just the same material and not lined. There is a thin headband similar to the one that wraps around the outside of the hat.The fit: It is the most important isn't it? It fits nicely. I ordered a medium according to the size measurements and it fits as expected. It is not too tight and a bit roomy. I would be afraid to wear it in a strong breeze though. But then again, It doesn't need to fit like a cap. It is more cooler than just a baseball cap!Occasion:It is a versatile hat that you can wear both casually and formally. However, I would not recommend wearing it with t-shirts and shorts and very light washed jeans or beach wear. Buy a sun hat for those extremely laid back occasions. It is just a little bit formal for that. But other than that, you can wear it with a nice polo t-shirt and a darker jeans or you can wear it with a suit and tie! Everyone has their own style and I believe you won't find it difficult to pair it and adapt it to your style needs.

I am amending my original review because in retrospect, I gotta say I love this hat. The way the back "upswings" and the front easily "downswings" is EXACTLY what I want in my hats! This one was PERFECT. But you NEED to know it did come with the brand "Scala" on it... One of their "classics". This makes no difference to me whatsoever as I already own about a half-dozen other Scala hats, but this is by FAR my favorite. Why they don't offer it in Gray is beyond me. I'd buy it in a nanosecond. Good looking hat, got a nice sort of "Bogart" touch to it, and it has worn well. Have had this one for better part of a year now, and it still looks brand new. In fact, I wanted to BUY another but in "Gray"... and in searching for it under Scala.. I couldn't find it in my orders--I had to do it the hard way and sift through about a hundred orders till I saw this one -- touted as "Dorfman" -- but no doubt about it.. it's the hat I have, and I reiterate, I love it and only wish they had more like it!

I ordered this for my fiancé for our wedding. This hat was packaged nicely and was just as pictured. The quality is really nice and not cheap looking at all, like another one we had tried before. Just perfect and elegant enough to wear to formal events or casual. The only issue we seem to have was that we ordered it in his size, and it was slightly too big. He doesn't have any hair, so that should be why. Though the size we ordered is the same as his ball caps that all fit perfect. We really liked this hat so to fix the issue, we just put a little foam padding on the inside of the rim and it fit perfectly.

This is a standard Trilby hat. The modern "trendy" hats are similar but they often have smaller brims and more of an extreme rear curve. You know the ones, the department stores get them in the summer and sell them dirt cheap as "retro."This hat's brim curves up the back more than the pictures might lead you to believe but it still looks good and follows the more traditional style of classic trilbies. The band is a nice contrasting fabric and the DPC pin is discreet enough to not to looks silly but instead add a nice detail.This hat can be dressy or casual. I'd feel as comfortable wearing it with a nice pair of jeans and shirt as I would with a suit and tie.This hat is very comfortable, easily returns to it's shape if it's accidentally crushed, and light enough to wear in the summer. It's not lined and lacks a real sweat band instead opting for the same elastic like material that the outer band is made of. For the price you can't beat it.

I'd been buying various budget Fedoras for a good look on camera...none of them are any good except this one. Super craftsmanship & high-quality wool make it a winner. Plus This one actually looks great. Others looked like cheesy costume hats. This one is excellent quality.Size: my head is 24" size 7 3/4. I got the XXL, and it fits fine. Just a tiny bit on the large side; the hat comes with a foam 3/4" 2' band you can put inside, between the liner & headband, and now a perfect fit.This hat is very cool; I'll wear onstage/camera...looks outstanding. We were a little leery on ordering this but just got it today and could not be more pleased. It came packaged nicely, has a great feel to it and it looks amazing on. As far as size goes we measured my sons head and it was at 23 1/5 (we did not do a real tight measure) so we got the xlarge. It fits nicely, but he also has thick hair. I would say do a true measure, this one at least seemed to be spot on the mark.

just arrived today! that was a speedy delivery! only waited 3 days! the fit was dead on too! i guess you can say it is true to size. i was so worried about picking the medium or the large. i have a few other Dorfman Pacific fedora hats and everyone of them fit differently. anyways, i picked the Large in the Chocolate color seeing how there was only a few left in stock. so i went with gut instinct and so happy i did! great price for a fedora i could wear everyday dressed up or relaxed. the wool is not heavy so you wont be sweating up a storm too.

In addition to keeping my head warm, and wearing well and sitting comfortably on my head, I have received several compliments on it.

This is a great looking hat, almost a full fedora, but not.

I bought this for my boyfriend and had no idea what size his head is, but I felt like his head was a bit bigger, so I went with the large and it fit perfectly! He absolutely loves it and it looks so good on! He loves hats and usually goes for a larger brim but we both absolutely Love the style. Trés sexy!
