Solid
Easily one of the best belts on the market for deadlifting or squatting. Ratchet system is quick and relatively easy, and you can dial in the tightness to exactly what you need with no fumbling. Warning - there seems to be a disconnect between size large and medium. I'm 5'9, 182lbs with a 32' waist, 34' in gut where I generally like to place my belts. Medium is definitely too small. There was approximately 4' between straps on me with the medium. Several friends have the large, and, while those fit me - I found that there was not many inches left when fully tightened.

Love this belt
Love this belt. I use it five to six days a week and it's helped me a ton. The only bad thing is the ratchet won't release the strap automatically when fully extended anymore, I have to manually hold it open and tug out the strap. Still a great belt and I'll buy another when the time comes.

Very disappointed. Almost injured myself.
Well, I almost had a horrible experience. After wearing the belt to squat with for a handful of times without any problems this belt quickly loosened up on me by roughly two inches during my ascent while squatting with 300lb on my back. I was in the process of coming up from knees parallel to the ground in a very controlled fashion and within a nanosecond while my thighs were reaching a forty-five degree angle this belt popped loose(r) by approximately two inches nearly throwing my spine out of alignment. I did five sets and all went well until I was about to complete my last set.I watched the instruction videos online and did my research. I also bought with confidence because I have the Spud Inc dipping belt which I really like and I gave that product a glowing five star review here on amazon. But this whole trend with gimmicky squat and deadlifting belts hasn't impressed me. In fact, I'm quite annoyed as I bought this belt right before I went on a two week trip. So here I am in the middle of my vacation and now I have to figure out a way to not interrupt my workouts by rushing to find another belt while thousands of miles away from home. I guess I shouldn't whine and consider myself extremely fortunate. I could have seriously injured myself while on vacation which could have been a horrid f*%#@ng nightmare.I also wanted to buy a belt that wasn't made from animal products as I was once vegan some time ago. So I thought this belt would be a good alternative to support my personal beliefs. But I have no faith that these gimmicky belts that lock in place with Velcro or ratchets will provide years of safe, reliable use. I'm just gonna find an old school, single prong, leather belt from a company that has a good longstanding reputation; something that everyone who buys can say that it lasts for many years.

If it’s good enough for Brian Shaw, it’s good enough for me.
Best belt that ever used personally. Belt size is very important with this belt so make sure you take your waist measurement where you normally wear a lifting belt (across the belly button for most). If you size it correctly, you’ll love it

Nice if you win the fitment lottery
So, I ended up spending $40 in shipping back and forth trying to find a size of this belt that actually fits. It's crazy, because the basic design idea *could* have made for a more or less once-size-fits-all product. The execution of that idea, however, was very poor. The issue is that the belt has only 3 inches of adjustability if you want the ends to overlap (like they do for every other weightlifting belt since the dawn of time and probably must in order to prevent some kind of horrible hernia injury). There are also some pretty large gaps between the sizes/not enough sizes, so unless you win the fitment lottery, and can live with only having 3 inches of adjustability at that, won't have a belt that fits.Other than this issue, I do like the belt. It's a clever hack and works well. The material is much more forgiving on the hips and ribs than my 13mm sole leather lever belt, which is especially nice (as the name suggests) for deadlifts. More convenient to adjust than a lever belt, but slower to get in and out of (or just loosen between sets).I currently have a 33" waist at the navel, which put me in a Medium by Spud's reckoning. This left me with about a 3 inch gap at maximum tightness---and a hernia waiting to happen. I ended up keeping a Large, which overlaps a little more than three inches at maximum tightness. In order to work around the design flaw, I cut off the pointlessly three ended free-end strap and sewed a new single strap on further back. This allowed me to have both overlap and sufficient adjustability. The mind boggles at why they chose to make the belt in a more complicated, less useful way, except perhaps as a ploy to sell you more belts as your weight fluctuates. I mean, they could have just left the ratchet strap as one continuous piece.I recommend, rather than buying this, buying one of spud's cheaper 3-ply nylon belts (at least one size up from their recommendation) and a $10 ratchet strap and DIYing it. The result would be superior to the Spud design as shipped. Maybe it's a different story for people with > 40% bodyfat who can just keep cinching it up until they finally hit muscle. But for anyone remotely lean and in between sizes, it's a lottery.

I recommend it to all of my friends
I'm a huge fan of this belt. I recommend it to all of my friends. The ratcheting feature gives you the option to wear it looser or tighter on the go for different lifts which is amazing. The flexibility of the belt doesn't bite into my hips as leather always seems to. Great buy.

I wear a medium in various weight belts. The spud pro series belt says it's a medium but will barely fit around my leg. Sizing is way off.
