Happy Birthday
Our son asked for this Tilley hat for his birthday. He tried on several Tilley models and settled on this one because of the 'vent' in the crown and the light weight. Amazon was the only place that offered the color he was looking for. And, this hat was $20 cheaper on Amazon than any other website or retail store.

Excellent!
Tilley hats are great - well designed, good fit, and durable. This one is no exception. I have an older one of this same model, and I notice they've widened the brim just a little. I think it's an improvement.

One awesome hat...
Tilley builds one tough hat. Since 2003, this makes the sixth hat I've owned from them. As others have said, getting the correct fit is crucial towards making these hats fit right. The tape measure says 7 1/4 for me. That's what I ordered back then in the duck cotton material. They do fit tight and they do need stretched out after washing them. My wife later bought a nylon style in a 7 1/4 and it was just too tight. The hemp style was a 7 1/4 and it fit a little looser. Even after washing it, shrinkage was minimal. But this one, I went with the 7 3/8 and that gave me the "two finger Tilley fit". I wore it the next day doing yard work, sweated like crazy then hand washed it, wrung it out like it was a towel, then shaped the brim back out and hung it over a milk jug to dry. I use the Kirkland brand milk containers from costco because they don't require cutting the top off. Next day the shape is perfect and no shrinkage. This is the lightest Tilley of all I've bought as well as my coolest of all. The hemp comes in second. This hat is going to give me many years of sun protection and keep the sweat out of my eyes. This seller had their name stamped on the warranty card already which I've never seen on any previous warranty cards which I thought was a good thing. I don't think I'll ever have to use it...my twelve year old hats are still going strong. You can't go wiring with these hats.... They are the best out there.

No Longer Worried About Quality...
I own a T4MO; love it. I got the T5 for the smaller brim, for golf. The hat arrived quickly -- 2 days -- but I noticed immediately that the crown was tilted to one side and the brim was stitched off-center. No Tilley tag in the back of the hat. Quality on the T4MO was better. The T5 fit a little looser than the T4. So, a defective hat and now returned. I will try again and hope this was a fluke. I will update this review later after I get a replacement.UPDATE #1 - I have re-ordered the same hat; it should arrive in a couple of days. I called and spoke to a Tilley Customer Service rep who reassured me that the hat is put together by hand and should be the same quality as my T4MO. I inquired about the Tilley tag on the back of the hat and she said "the new hats have it; the old ones don't." So the hat I returned was apparently old stock, FWIW.UPDATE #2 - New hat arrived and is perfect. Love it! Thank you Tilley and Amazon!

Very happy with this hat.
Love the hat. Opinions vary on whether it looks goofy or great, but the fact is I wear it to protect myself from the sun--not to be fashionable. Very pleased with it so far.A note regarding sizing: the Tilley website says you should be able to stick to fingers into the front of the hat easily, they are not meant to be worn super tight. I find that the best size is one where, yes, you can stick two fingers in the front of the hat but not without using your other hand to pull the hat forward a bit. Another test: the hat should be able to slide about 1.5 inches from side to side on your head if you're pulling it. Not so tight that it can't go side to side, but not frictionless either.

Indispensable hat
My everyday hats are "outback" style so don't work so well with my headphone style ear defenders when I'm out mowing. This hat readily folds up at the sides to accommodate the ear defenders at the same time as keeping the sun and bugs off my head.Plus it acts as a first defense against head height sticker bushes as I ram the tractor into the untamed brush that we got stuck with when we bought our farm.So the hat has been ripped off my head on a number of occasions, on one of which it went under the brush hog at the back of the tractor I was driving at the time.Compare the damage that the brush hog did to the hat vs what it did to the tractor tail pipe that got dragged off and hogged over at the weekend. I'm glad I wasn't wearing the tail pipe.Rob.

Organic, wind cords, UPF 50+- what’s not to like?
Lightweight and comfortable for long term wear. Feels cooler than nylon version. I wear larger brimmed hats in summer for extra protection, but I like this size brim for the rest of the year. It can be left on inside and doesn’t get in the way of backpacks. I think Tilley hats run a little smaller than they did a decade ago, and I’ve gone up a size.

I like the look.
I have no dislikes. Having had sun damage issues on my forehead, the advice was to get a wide brimmed hat to help keep the sun off my head. I chose this Tilley and I am very pleased.
