Great for riding in urban conditions.
I'm very happy with these Mondail tires. They came marked on the box and sides of the tires as 28" x 1.75", The tires are also marked as 622 x 47. "622" is the rim diameter, which is the size that fits 29er, 700c and 28 inch in the Imperial system. The tires came in a box with a sticker indicating they are 700 x 45mm. The tire is marked 47mm, as I mentioned and they measure 47mm at their widest point. If you would like them in a wider size, look for the 28 x 2.00 inch, which is basically a 700 x 50mm plus or minus. That size will also fit a 29er.Back to the tires, I use them for riding on pavement around town with my Salsa Fargo drop bar adventure bike. The Mondails are reasonably fast and light, but still with some depth to the tire "knobs" for good grip on the lousy roads found in most cities. Great for riding over broken pavement, potholes and trolley tracks. The tires feel sure-footed on wet pavement. Compared to my Schwalbe Marathon Almotion (I have 26" x 2.15" Almotions on a city bike), I'd say the Mondails roll just as fast, are maybe a little heavier and have deeper tread lugs with more grip.Because the Mondails have a pretty round cross section, they corner well, but would probably not be the best choice for off road in gravel or soft dirt. They'll probably sink more than a square section gravel-oriented tire.

Excellent for hybrid bikes versatility...
Bought a set for my GT Transeo 2.0 hybrid. Currently only replaced the rear since the original front tire still has some decent life to it.Been very tempted to swap anyway because the marthon rides smooth, quiet, fast, decent on light gravel, & decent overall grip. Will come back to these if still available. Excellent overall tires for hybrid versatility...

Great tires for a monster cross bike.
Been using these tires since 2012 on my monster cross bike and they are working great. I've now topped 7000 mi. on the front tire and have a YouTube video entitled: "Schwalbe Marathon Mondial Tread Wear" showing the tread wear I've seen. I've been running these tires tubeless on Stans ArchEX rims with good results. Have only had one flat in over 7000 miles riding on pavement, gravel and dirt. That was due to a finish nail that went in the tread and out the sidewall right next to the bead. The tread puncture sealed up fine, but the sidewall puncture didn't due to the flexing there.

resilient but fast enough
So far I made one bikepacking trip in Indonesia in rather bad road conditions. The tires performed superbly. I had no punctures, and I had no difficulties riding long offroad sections and completely broken asphalt. While obviously, this is not a race tire, I did't feel much drag, and I was able to do long distances with reasonable effort. Honestly, I don't feel the Mondials any slower than some of the gravel race tires, such as Specialized Trigger pro, etc. To sum it up, it is far the best touring tire I ever tried in my life.

smooth rolling, quiet, long tread life, but heavy. Highly recommended touring tire.
After several flats, I wanted to upgrade to puncture resistant tires. Researching touring tires, I rapidly concluded that these Mondial foldable tires are the best. When I installed them onto my Specialized AWOL, i noticed that they rolled much smoother over pavement with less tread noise. The largest drawback is that they are heavier, which makes accelerating from a standing stop more difficult. I've put about 500 miles on the tires, and the tread still looks great.Overall, I am extremely pleased with these tires. Someday when they wear out, I'll replace them with the same model.Highly recommended.

Good tires, bad company
Essentially, this is a fair tire. However, Schwalbe customer service is trash. I emailed them to explain that the sidewall had split, but they told me I mist have cut it. After I showed photos demonstrating that the whitewall itself -a separate layer on top of the sidewall- was undamaged, nevertheless they refused to provide any assistance, this time upon different grounds. It was obvious to me that the representative was a clown, and now let this review serve as a warning to anyone expecting the service to match the product’s reputation.

Fantastic Tire on my Trek 520
Simply and exceptional tire. Probably best tire I've ever had on a bike. Don't have that many miles on it yet, but read exhaustively prior to purchase and flats were far and few in-between. The grip and handling are great, and the extra size of the 42 noticeably softens the ride for a steel touring bike. The tread and look of the tire is really nice, as well.

Best touring tire I've tried
I've tried quite a few premium touring tires and these are the best. They are stable and predictable on the pavement, hardpack, and gravel. The tires feel connected on wet surfaces. I have about 2k miles on them and haven't had any flats. You might feel the weight when you're going from a dead stop but the smooth ride and dependability are more than worth it.

Excellent tyre
Excellent tyres. During the summer I’ve been riding on their Big Apples tyres. Excellent puncture resistance. Needed a tyre with a little extra grip as I ride on both road and trail. Great performance.

Happy with product and delivery
The product arrived on schedule, packed into a box. The tire is quite light, with a tread pattern that allows good rolling and traction. The folded tire takes a second or two to unfold into its wheel shape; which is helped by inserting a partially inflated inner tube. Pressing in around the inner rim of the tire helps to get it into the shape it needs to be before fitting. There are minimalist instructions that come with the tube; watching some professional videos can help to ensure a good fit. In essence, get one side of the tire into the wheel rim, ensure the inner tube is within the confines of the tire, and gradually work the opposing side of the tire into the rim by using a set of tire spoons. It's a good idea to begin the process with the valve at the top, ensuring that it remains vertical through the process, and protruding to its limit. If the inner tube was already partially inflated, it will be necessary to gradually expel air during this process. Once the two sides of the tire are snug on the wheel rim, check all around on both sides to ensure a good fit and no pinches, then incrementally inflate the inner tube, re-checking at each step. Once at the desired pressure, go for a ride and enjoy the smoothness joy of riding on these beautiful tires.
