Knits for Barbie Doll: 75 Fabulous Fashions for Knitting

The clothes were very nice and not just the usual. However, for those of us who aren't knitting designers with odd bits of specialty yarn, ( Cotton silk, Mohair, Merino) it would have been helpful to have yarn sizes-Sport weight, baby yarn, etc. so we could make better guesses about what to use. In addition, this is a wonderful book for collectors, but the price of the yarns used and the time to make the garments, makes it a tad impractical for the basic 4 year old Barbie lover who usually strips her doll and sheds it's clothes over a large territory

I don't know if there is anything to dislike yet because I have not yet made any of the clothes. I bought this book after checking it out of the library and thinking that since I am a beginning knitter, this book would be a fun book to learn all sorts of knitting techniques without having to do big projects. As a girl, I learned to crochet making clothes for 8-inch dolls. The clothes in this book are so cute that I expect to have lots of fun and learn valuable information also. This book came excellently packaged and new like it was advertised.

I am new at knitting but would love to make this designs.

I really liked the book and it’s layout, quality wasn’t bad however I didn’t expect the patterns to be so old. The designs are definitely vintage

This book is filled with wonderful projects for beautiful Barbie fashions. The clothes in stores are not up to expectations so we shall have to take matters into our own hands. This book will be very helpful in that regard.

Who needs another book of patterns, especially for a Barbie doll? Anyone who makes doll clothes! What a lot of fun! When you don't feel like wrestling w/a new big project just whip out this book and knit a little Aran Sweater or a "fur" coat or a stunning evening gown for Barbie. Use your imagination!! Don't have a doll to knit for? Donate the clothes to a church bazaar, sell them at a craft show or donate them to a neighbor's child. You won't go wrong purchasing this book...just remember to buy the yarn in a Barbie size scale (fingering or DK)and it does call for size 2 or 2.5 needles. :o)

The patterns are pretty cute but but they are all basically worked from the bottom up and seamed. It would have been nice to have added some circular or top down patterns, with 75 patterns there is certainly space for some different constructions.Secondly and more importantly, she NEVER lists the yarn weight - just the brand. I recognized the DMC pearl cotton but most I had no idea. I assume they are quite fine but please don't make me guess! She does list the resources at the end but I want to use yarn I already had. She gives gauges and yarn size but yarn weight would make this book much easier to use

I didn't like the yarn that you had to use. It was hard to find the yarn,so I used what I had them used a very small size needles. I liked the patterns that was offered.

Fabulous book! Many patterns for clothes for a Barbie doll, and they cover all sorts of occasions - from a beach, to a cocktail party. The clothes are very attractive, but a beginner knitter should be able to tackle them.

I cannot find any of the knitting fibres used for the patterns as they are American and no British alternatives are given

Looked everywhere for this cheaper but this was the best price anywhere, just waiting for grandma to knit some cool clothes for my daughters barbie now.

Outstanding condition as if i had brought it off the shelf such a bargain xx
