This battery will save you some money by not having to replace those old Firestorm tools to get the lithium battery advantages. It is a lithium battery that fits and powers the Black & Decker Firestorm tools perfectly. The beauty of this battery is that it can be charged directly by your existing charger, plus it has a charge indicator built into the battery.The battery I originally purchased seemed to have a problem charging on my charger, and it didn't have the 3000mAh capacity that was advertised (Perhaps because of the charging issues).The manufacturer of this battery recommends using the Black & Decker BDFC240 charger, which is what I used. I have not tried charging this battery on any of the other B&D chargers.The issue I saw was the charger would act like it was charging the battery correctly, but about the time the battery should have been charged, the charger would indicate a charging error. But the charge indicator on the battery however, indicated a full charge. Even though it was reading the correct charged voltage, to see if the battery was adequately charged, I tested it with my battery analyzer. Three tests all returned the same results showing only 2000mAh capacity.I contacted the seller about these issues and they promptly replaced the battery. The replacement battery worked much better. It had no problem charging on my OEM charger, but while the capacity was much better, still didn't match its advertised capacity. Even so, the batteries have more capacity that the OEM NiCd batteries.I was only going to give this battery 2 stars because of the issues with the first battery, but I bumped it to 4 stars because of the excellent service I got from Energup in correcting the problem and the much better performance of the replacement battery.I have acquired a full complement of Firestorm tools over the years and my NiCd batteries are dying off. This battery gives me the advantage of lithium batteries without having to buy adapters, and additional chargers.

The OEM Ni-Cad battery that originally came with my Black & Decker string trimmer was a piece of crap from day one. It *barely* lasted long enough to trim my yard. I have a small yard and don't even trim all of it, so it was a disappointment right out of the box. This year, I knew I couldn't go on with this piece of crap Ni-Cad battery! I ordered 2 of these replacement batteries in the Lithium Ion and am so glad I did! EXCELLENT doesn't even begin to describe it. Charged both to full capacity and only used 1/4 of one of them to do the ENTIRE yard! Never have I done it all in one day before. I would alternate weeks, but no more. I am now searching for other equipment that fit these batteries because that's how happy I am with these batteries!

This battery is great for battery life and power. It is hard to beat. However, once it was installed in my yard blower it was hard to remove. Once I got it out I filed down the side grooved slides of the battery and my blower which eliminated the problem. The bottom of the battery fit snug to the opening in the tool and was difficult to remove. A little more work on the blower fixed that too. The fitting process takes a few minutes but the life and power of the battery makes it worth it. I bought two more!

What can you say if you don't charge a product within the time frame to return an item that has no use to you? Purchase this battery to replace Black & Decker Battery. They matched. Used the Battery and when it needed charging the Black and Decker Charger BDFC240 which I already had will not charge the battery. Now that I miss the deadline to return the Battery with Amazon I am out the money. Lesson learned you get the product test it out ASAP. This is a negative part of dealing with Amazon.

Do not waste your time buying this battery. It is not compatible with the charger they recommend. The recommended charger is for a ni-cd battery. This is a li-ion battery and I have no idea what charger to use. I have bought 2 different chargers and had to send them both back. Now I will be sending this battery back.

This is a great replacement for the Ni-Cad B&D battery and a LOT better price! Lasts longer and charges quicker. Also with LI-Ion technology you can charge whenever and not need to run it down between charges if you don't want to. Highly recommend this battery!

This is a lithium battery, the recommend B&D charger charges it but also indicated a faulty battery from first use. I contacted the vendor and they said not to worry, we’ll it worked great for 3 months and now it won’t charge anymore.

I needed a replacement for my original B&D battery. Not only is this battery much lighter, the longevity of the battery is also so much better.If you need a replacement battery for your older B&D battery operated tools I can strongly recommend this.
