You have to slide the little metal chunk in between the pace gap and pound the rod with a hammer on the other side of the shoe. It was satisfying to fix my shoe. Downside is that these are not heavy duty . They are ok for my keen cloth hiking shoes and would work on a thin leather too but not a work shoe

Hooks are thin metal and bend relatively easy.

I think it's actually pretty nice I bought a pair of boots that had really terrible grommets from the factory and I was able to replace them with the ones that came with this kit and now they're fantastic everyday wear bootsIf you have any nice dress shoes or boots this is an absolute must have in your maintenance box

Exactly as ordered , arrived sooner than expected. The tools had some large burrs left behind from cutting but I’m not even mad about it. I’m restoring a pair of my brothers boots (he passed away 3 years ago) and looks like this tool will work just fine.

These hooks are “OK” if you’re not putting a lot of strain on them. But if you expect them to function well on work boots then look elsewhere. The anvil and setter are very good though. So for the price it’s worth it if you don’t expect too much.

The washer that holds the rivet is too small. It pulled through the hole in the leather after about a month.

I needed to repair my riding boots and this top allowed me to hand rivet my Boot hook to my boot. Great tool and superb price. It did take a while to get here as it traveled from China.

Bought this to repair a pair of sneakers that had a ripped lace hole. I converted the top two lace holes on each sneaker to eyelets. They look great!
