Lots of fun but requires a light touch
This drone has very sensitive controls, especially the vertical (up/down), so it took me some time to get a hang of getting the drone to hover steadily. The drone is also very light, so the less windy it is, the better. I've had several crashes due to my inexperience flying, but the drone hasn't been damaged--being very light is a plus in this situation. I think the controls are probably too sensitive for my kids (9 and 7)to try it, but they enjoy chasing after the drone and playing with the camera. The camera is decent with good picture quality, but the signal can be intermittent at times resulting in a little choppiness. The controller comes with a mount you can put your phone on so you can watch the footage while flying. I found it difficult to fly the drone while watching the camera, so I just gave my phone to one of my kids to watch the camera view while I controlled the drone. A plus is that when taking pictures or videos using the camera, it's already on your phone, so you don't need to transfer the footage to your phone after you fly--it's already there. Also, the camera connection to the phone is a Wi-fi connection, *not* Bluetooth. Once you turn on the drone, it will appear in your "Available Wi-fi Networks" as an option with the prefix "MJX". Once you connect, your phone might complain that it doesn't have an internet connection, which is ok--just accept it and then launch the DROCON app and select "Monitor", and the camera feed should appear right away. From there it's easy to take snapshots or record video. The drone has two speeds--low and high, and while the high speed can be fun, I'd suggest you stick with low speed (which is the default) until you get some experience flying. There is also a "stunt" button which allows you to do flips with the drone, which is fun--especially when you have the camera going. There is also a headless mode, which means that regardless of which way the drone is pointing, the controls are relative to you. That is, when you press left on the stick, the drone will go left from *your* perspective, not the drone's. There is also a one-button return function, in case you get messed up and just want the drone to come back. Pressing the button doesn't mean the drone will come and land right in front of you, rather it will head back in your general direction. So it's not a "perfect" return function, but it works well enough to get the job done.Battery life is perhaps 6-8 minutes of continuous flight, and it takes maybe a half hour to recharge, so I recommend that you get extra batteries if you intended on flying longer than that. The manual also recommends to take a few minutes between flights for the motors to cool down as well. All in all this is a good starter drone that is a lot of fun. Pick a large open area on a calm day and you'll have a blast, and don't forget to connect your phone!

Best Drone for beginners
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I used other drones when going over friends house and they were very touchy to work with. I bought my first drone, this one in particular. I learned how to keep the drone hovering, how to maneuver through the park with trees and what not, and the picture and video feature is just so cool. Wish the battery would last a little longer, but cant expect too much since its a very small battery. Best Drone overall and the pricing for the quality is right on the dot ! I have recommended i to other friends and co workers. 2 other friends actually ordered their drones after using and seeing mine.

App would not connect to camera, first remote use it flew up, up and away...
Following the directions given to connect to the wi-fi of the drone, and then open the app to monitor the camera on both an iPhone 6 and an iPad 3, could get neither of them to work after multiple attempts. Gave up and decided to play with it without the camera by using the remote instead. Throttled up and down to connect to the drone as instructed and the drone took off high up into the air and was carried away by the wind. Would not respond to any stick controls... just... flew away.UPDATE 9/27: I was contacted by DROCON after they read my review and they offered a replacement drone at absolutely no cost to me! Nice to see a company stand behind its products and offer such excellent customer service! This alone made it worth the cost of this drone and I'm thrilled to be receiving a new drone to try out. I will update my review again once I get the new drone and get a chance to use it!UPDATE 9/30: I received my replacement drone and got it out today. It was a different model entirely (DC-014) and while it did connect with the phone this time, it also failed to respond to stick controls and, essentially, flew right into the lake. So, thus ends my experience with Drocon drones. I didn't expect much from a toy drone, but I did expect to be able to fly it for more than a few seconds before it committed suicide. Live and learn. I'll leave my review at 3 stars for the excellent customer service and the replacement drone.UPDATE 10/31: Despite my original refusal to accept any more free replacement drones from Drocon, they convinced me to give their products one more shot and sent me yet another, different, drone. That this company took the time to listen to my feedback about their QC issues and still offered me a second replacement drone at no cost to me is worthy of 5 stars... their customer service is absolutely top notch in that regard. The newest drone I received from Drocon flew well and did not lose stick control or have any problems with the camera as I had experienced with their other models. Thank you Drocon for standing behind your products and convincing me to give your drones one last chance. I'm happy I did!
