When you insert the batteries, the time resets to ring 6. So first the time to around 5:45, then put in the batteries, and move the hands to the desired time. Naturally, let the clock ring when you pass through the 12 position.

Yes, it is an error and only Amazon can correct it.

This clock does indeed have a paper dial, which is very common. The dial on this clock is behind glass.

The clock I bought does not have a pendulum.
