Autonomous lawn mowing is the future!
I ordered Robomow RS612 for my house in August 2018 and I plan to update this review over the course of its installation and cutting results/performance throughout the seasons. My house sits on 13,068 sq feet and my lawn is 7,880 sq feet. I also named him "Lawnie", so I'll refer to his name below. Please post your comments below and I'll do my best to answer them.1) Charging: (Updated August 27, 2018) After you test your parameter wire, Lawnie will need to charge for 30 hours. This is to balance the battery. When the batteries are balancing, the app will show 99% forever. So, don't touch it -- you'll see on the app it'll say "ready to mow" and "100%" or something along those lines then you can begin your first official mow. If you do not wait until the battery reaches 100% then your battery will not fully charge each cycle. Also, it will take a week or two before the Lawnie is trained to run its full cycle. Only then will it have a faster charge and a longer mow time. Lawnie is mowing well past an hour when it requires it. See website photo.2) Cutting: I let my grass grow too high around 6+ inches and Lawnie was still able to cut my lawn really well after a few passes. (SEE BEFORE and AFTER PHOTOS) There were patches of tall weed type grass that Lawnie struggled with at first, but he eventually cut it all down on the multiple passes throughout the weekend. Also, I noticed if the grass is too tall for example, the cutting blades will disengage and Lawnie will drive forward a little then his blades will reengage. If you don't know by now, Lawnie does not mow in straight lines but actually random patterns so no uncut grass goes missed. When the grass is fully cut and Lawnie is in maintenance mode, basically cutting each zone once a day, my grass will have clean even height forever. In the first week Lawnie has cut my grass, his total distance covered is over 20 miles! How about that!3) Edging: I need to configure my parameter wire a bit more before I can provide a full opinion on edging. Lawnie has great potential to edge very well, but I need to make some changes to my parameter before its perfect.4) Parameter Wire: (Updated Aug 21 2018) Depending on your yard size, you'll be need to block out 3 to 12 hours to properly configure your property with the included parameter wire. Also, the included 800 feet of perimeter wire was not enough for my yard since I had a lot of mulched trees I needed to wrap perimeter around. I picked up another 500 feet of wire at my local hardware store. You can use THHN 14, which is a little bit thicker, but it works just fine. Also, my yard has a very narrow passages in between my neighboring homes. I added what are called "zones" to reach these areas of my yard. While in zone mode configuration, Lawnie will drive along the parameter while then press stop on the menu screen when you're *well within* the new zone you want specified for it to cut. You don't do this process within your main zone, which is where his base station lives. If you have more zones created, continue this simple process until you're done. Once this is setup is complete, Lawnie will mow each zone a day. Also, he'll return to its base station to charge at 35% power. You can have up to 4 zones programmed.5) Mobile App: (Updated August 27) The app uses bluetooth so you can easily update the mowing configuration remotely. However, you're not able to use the app unless you're within bluetooth proximity which is disappointing. The mower does *NOT* send you push notifications to your phone unless you have the GSM module (FR-MRK6100A) add on, however this is NOT available in US, because it only supports EU markets.6) Remote Control: I tested mowing Lawnie with my iPhone 7+ and it worked nicely. Your hand gets fatigued pressing firmly on the screen for long periods of time, because one hand must always press the ON button for the blades to spin otherwise the blades disengage. Lawnie doesn't seem to like to mow grass in reverse FYI. There's also a physical remote control that can be purchased as an accessory, which is also bluetooth.7) Website Statistics: You're able to review your mowing statistics on their online website myrobomow.robomow.com which reveals charging time, mowing time, distance traveled, etc. (SEE PHOTO)8) Accessories: Ordering accessories on the official US robomow website took a few business days to ship. You'll get an email when your order is processed with a tracking number.

Works great as expected. Maybe little better.
The floating deck and speed of cut is great. The lawn cuts smooth like a golf course. Avoids object nicely and manages to cut around trees without additional boundary wire around it. Some landscaping objects you may have to use the boundary wire to help with edging mode. I'll update review when I tweaked the boundary wire next spring. Edging could be closer but I have it couple inches so far out in most areas to initially avoid out of bound issues on the smooth wide turn cut mode.It does learn your lawn very quickly. You won't have missed cut sections for very long unlike a small orange competitor brand that had uncut portions over a couple of weeks during my trial run. The robow mow turbo mode was unexpected surprise for a first cut. The gsm module will text you if issues with the device. It worked when I was several miles away. But I didn't receive notification when I was at home other times. When I see it stopped, the Bluetooth app will tell me issue when I run the app.If it stops due to a boundry wire or obstacle that it can't avoid. I've been able to remote control it via the app out of the situation and let it continue on it's way or send it to the base. I just watch my security camera so I can remote control it for fun and watch my wife roll her eyes. The Bluetooth signal is really bad. Wish it had WiFi or ability to have a Bluetooth repeater. Also, let the initial battery cell balancing finish. When that is done, the mow time will be great.

THE 612 ROBOMOWER
Works Great...but it is best to download the APP on your Cell Phone...this is the best way to control when your robomow mows your lawn...and this one goes on the steep slops better than my RL1000 Robomower did...and this new one weighs less and is a 22 inch opposed to 21 inch cut does not make much noise at all...I recommend it to anyone tired of mowing with a Gasoline Mower...
