Q: Do you know if the blades can be cleaned in the dishwasher??

I don't dishwash anything sharp for fear of dulling the blades. If you want to keep your unit in great shape, and retain the "edge" and quickness of your "zoodling", I wouldn't. It takes about a second to wash them. I made zoodles and used them in an omelet in under 10 minutes yesterday, including clean up.

Q: Does this do spirals or only noodles like strings?

It makes noodles and ribbons. We use the noodle blade the most. It works great to make low carb ramen.

Q: Is the shaft of the hand crank threaded? Do you have to apply pressure toward the blades?
