An excellent keyboard which cannot overcome the disadvantage of size and price
I bought an Amazon Warehouse one. Indistinguishable from new and nearer to the sort of price that the product should be.It is an excellent keyboard. Great feel. Backlit keys. Light. Protects the screen when folded. Well thought out function keys. Accurate touchpad. Nobody could seriously complain. The three stars for use are because it cannot overcome the fact that it fits on a delightfully compact PC. That makes it something that takes time to get used to if you are a typist rather than a pecker. The three stars for value for money are because market price and cost to make must be miles apart. Actually, I have just changed that to four as it is a bargain in comparison to the extortionate Apple device! (£350) All is nearly forgiven Microsoft. The five stars are as it really could not be a better product.

Expensive but does work really well
toyed with the idea of going for an "own label" version but in the end decided to through more money at Microsoft. It is well made and performs brilliantly with the Surface Go. I find it comfortable to use and reliable. Think the magnetic connection is pretty clever. Having paid a fortune for the Surface might as well have the full benefit with the keyboard. Very happy with it. Did buy an "own label" Blue tooth mouse, this was cheap but not so cheerful so confirmed the keyboard decision.

microsoft surface go type cover
its a good quality item that works really well, slim lightweight and fully functional as a keyboard, it is more expensive than some that are available but you get what you pay for

Overpriced but Unmatched
The keyboard on this type "cover" is as good as you would expect (and can get) for a sixth of the price, with an adjustable backilight offering three levels of brightness, and lit dots to confirm when sticky keys such as Caps Lock are enabled, the keys are as wide as they could be, they could have been designed a bit taller but priority was clearly given to the touchpad, I have not found any difficulty typing. The touchpad is the reason I bought this type cover, comparable keyboards that connect via Bluetooth and stay in place thanks to the magnetic base of the Surface Go are easy to find, but a reliable mouse or touchpad that is slim enough to slip into a thin case with the tablet is much harder to find. It's a decent sized touchpad, it supports gestures, it has an (unmarked) right click zone in the bottom right corner, it also has push down click/button functionality as well as tap select functionality. Some reviews refer to the premium look and feel of the cover, it doesn't really give that impression to me, I think the tablet looks much better naked and the cover makes it look older, if you're going for aesthetic awe then perhaps the "signature" range of covers are better. The description says black but it is more of a dark grey, and while the product photos show a US layout it is - thankfully - a UK layout on the one I received. The notion that this keyboard is a "cover" seems far-fetched to me, a cover is supposed to protect against expensive damage, not cost £100 itself to replace. I bought this while on discount and still consider it to be overpriced at the amount I payed for it, but this is common to most Microsoft accessories when compared to their competitors.Buying Microsoft might not ensure higher quality but you know it will work well with Windows, and in this instance it is a guarantee of a good fit and seemless connection. If you want a truly portable slim pointing device (beyond a pen) and keyboard then a lack of choice makes this the most viable option, and it does perform as well as expected, and it is very convenient that it clings to the tablet making it a full convertible laptop in one - smart looking - portable piece. If you're looking for the convenience this provides, it is the best option, even at full price.

A must have accessory
I bought this with mu Surface Go as I hate typing on screen. I think if you are going to use your tablet day to day this is a must. The build quality is really great, plus it acts as a cover for the screen. I did dither about the price, but I think for the quality it is worth the price.

The keyboard is very good for a thin keyboard
The keys have good travel for such a thin base and the tactile feedback is in my opinion better than butterfly switches, although it still isn't the same typing experience as a full mechanical keyboard. The keyboard is quite small, but it has decent spacing and doesn't feel too cramped, but it might be a bit harder to type for people with smaller hands. The backlighting is very good as well.

Its a keyboard !
This is a very expensive keyboard for the MS Surface. I dont understand why it needs to cost £99 as it should either be built into the price for a Microsoft Surface or offered at far less ££ - no one buys a Surface to use as a tablet, they use it as a laptop, hence a keyboard is essential. Is it worth £99 ? No, is it worth £50?, no, is it worth £35 ? YES and it should be priced accordingly as no one really has a choice but to buy this product, there aren't even any 3rd party keyboards available. Come on Microsoft you can do a lot better than this !!I dont blame Amazon for this, its more a commercial decision by Microsoft.Having said that, the keyboard connects by magnets and connects to the Surface with ease and is a good portable keyboard.

Glad I bought it
Delivery time was fine. Easy to use. Improved my use of the Surface Go, made it easier. Bit sorry the Surface is not totally enclosed in cover and that therefore when closed one side is black the other grey.
