Works great ... a real value.
AtomStack is a brand name I trust as I have had several of their lasers over the past few years. Good solid reliable equipment from a reputable manufacturer. I was not disappointed with the P1. Works great doing exactly what I bought it for ... Engraving pens. Had to make Parts and Jigs but as a maker that was no problem.

Atomstock Laser Printer/engraver
Easy to set up but when you purchase buy the one that comes with both the 5w and 1.5w heads. I have made several things with it using the included software

garbage
I would give this 0 stars if I could. The engravable area is tiny, even if you are able to get this thing to work, which it never really did. The app is glitchy and hard to use. The written instructions are terrible. If you want to run it with computer software you have to pay extra for it (my husband looked it up and said it would cost an extra $100.) There is no way to know where it will start the engraving, so it is impossible to center the item you are trying to engrave. We were only able to get it to engrave a piece of cardboard one time and it was completely off center since there is no way to align it with where the laser will start. It didn't work at all after that. This is listed as beginner friendly and it is definitely NOT. Don't waste your money.

Great Beginner Machine
The media could not be loaded. I started out overwhelmed by this thing, but I got the hang of it in a very basic way after a bit. I started by installing the iOS app and Lightburn on my PC. I didn’t realize though that Atomstack actually has a PC program too, which is much more intuitive than Lightburn. The owner’s manual is rather short, and I do wish they provided better step by step guidance. I cobbled together the most basic steps by watching several YouTube videos, reading the manual, looking at their online support, asking for guidance from an LLM, and experimenting with their software; I highly recommend learning as much as possible through these sources when setting up for the first time. Regardless, I like the results I’m getting initially. I need to find the best settings for the materials I’m trying, but I’m encouraged by the results. Coming in with no knowledge of laser cutting and engraving, I didn’t even know what it meant to frame before engraving. Learning that it allows you to see the path the laser will travel before you set it actually to do its work, I saw how you can truly make full use of a piece and not let any material go to waste unnecessarily. One note about fume mitigation. Just as a very quick test, I started by placing machine with the tiny exhaust fan facing a dual fan exhaust, about an inch away from it, and the fume mitigation was not strong enough. I wonder if the internal fan really pulls out enough to the back of the machine, because I had the feeling fumes might leak from the front. Of course there are many ways to mitigate fumes, and I’ll look more into that later.I can say that at least with the Atomstack PC software, creating an image was easy, and setting up an engraving was no problem. From what I can tell from initial use, and as a complete beginner, this should be a great machine for any small scale work, if you can set up decent fume extraction. I’ll reassess this as I gain more experience, but the quality of my initial tests was really surprisingly great.

So easy to set up
I've played around with 3d printers before and was a little reluctant to try a laser engraver, but this is so much easier to get started and there's no fussing with filament. It came with a small piece of MDF to try out with so I popped that in the machine and used one of the designs included in the app. A few clicks and I was engraving and the machine did the rest. It's worth noting that it works wirelessly through the phone app and that was the easiest way to get started.Keep in mind that this laser will burn designs into material, so it is wise to vent it to the outside or use in a well-ventilated area as you will smell burning while it's working. Engraving area is about 4 inches by 4 inches. This will keep your projects confined to smaller parts, but there is still a lot it can do.This really is a cool and inexpensive way to get started with laser engraving. It won't do everything and it certainly isn't meant for professional use, but it is an awesome hobbyist tool at a pretty good price point.

Do a good job but laser didnt work after two tests
The media could not be loaded. I loved this machine. After two wood practice test, the laser didnt work anymore. However the 1.2 work really well. I had to return it since one of the laser is just not functioning anymore. You can see how nothing is coming out of the laser box. The one in the wood is one of the practices

Great for beginners to intermediate users!
I'm totally new to working with a laser cutter/engraver, but it was something I was interested in especially since there are so many useful projects that can be completed with one. This was incredibly simple to use. The app is fairly easy to use, but the instructions could be better. Atomstack is a brand I've heard of before, so I was excited, but as I said disappointed in the instructions. I took advantage of online resources and talked with other makers about how best to use it. With a little practice I was very pleased with the results. It is definitely meant for a beginner, but that doesn't mean you'll outgrow it in a week or two. I think this is a good product, and a great value for any beginner to intermediate user.
