VERY fun build
This was really fun to build. The model is very solid feeling with lots of cool features. Definitely worth the money. Here are the only cons in my opinion:I had trouble with the ejection seat mechanism. Even though I tested the function throughout the build progress to ensure it was still working smoothly, and it was, for some reason by the time the model was complete, there was an issue. The red "flipper" assembly from step 58 that ejects the seat would not reset after releasing the middle section of the bumper. As I jiggled the mechanism to try to get the flipper to reset, the blue 1x4 flat tile from step 52 came dislodged with no easy way to put it back without lots of disassembly, so I simply removed it. I think it got hung up on the 2x8 plate from step 64. Ironically, however, the ejection seat now works flawlessly without that piece in place. Go figure...The retractable roof section that goes over the ejection seat also tends to get hung up on the 1x2 plate with slide from step 246 when you try to use the ejection set mechanism.Even though I knew about this before purchasing, I do find it disappointing that they didn't come up with a way to deploy the tire scythes (instead, you have to manually assemble them and attach them). Just thought that was odd, given all the other features.

Best lego set ever made. I mean it
I've been eyeing this model ever since it was released. Recently, I've had a lot of free time I've needed to fill with mindful activities, so I finally got this set at over $200. Man. What a buildFirst lego build I years. there are so many downright impressive playfeatures that, honestly, I don't even want to talk about here, because the act of finding them out as you build is so much fun. Here's where the negative comes in though. See, I hadn't bought a lego set for years, years before this model even released. After building it, I was under the impression that all lego has these many features built in. I've bought so many lego sets since then just trying to recapture the magic of making this model. It really is the best lego set ever made.

Great kit my husband really enjoyed
The only problem was my husband became obsessed with this and had it completed too quickly! If you or someone you know, loves cars and Bond, this is an excellent gift. Just a note that they include extra parts, which is nice, but if you’re not aware of it before you start, it’s a little alarming when you have pieces left over and aren’t sure why. Great directions and excellent packaging. Highly recommend this accompanying lighting kit also. It’s not as cool of a car without it.

Faithful, functional DB5 model
Unbelievable! Absolutely the best Lego set I have ever tried! Takes 3-4 hours for a Lego veteran to assemble. Full of features and looks unusually realistic. As a Bond fan, particularly the Connery era, I would be very critical of a goofy or ham-handed attempt, but this is really good. I've included photos of each different feature to show what they do, but the real fun is going through the assembly to discover for yourself how they work. A brief list:Front machine guns behind lightsRear window bulletproof shieldRevolving front and rear license platesEjector seat with retracting roof plate (actually is probably a better design than the actual car, which left you with a hole in the roof IIRC)Radar displayRed telephone inside the driver's doorOpening bonnet and boot, with classic British straight-six inside the formerChrome detailsAs usual, Lego provides multiple spares of some of the more easily loseable parts, and will replace any missing ones upon request (one minor part missing from my kit).

Great fun to build!
This was a fun model to make! I do have a suggestion or two for LEGO if they ever read these things! One, using color pictures as instructions is fine, as long as you accurately depict the colors used to make the pieces. They should improve the color depiction of the dark gray and light gray blocks, and develop a system to designate silver and clear pieces: they look gray in the instructions. Lastly, why couldn't they make the "wheel shredders" on Bonds car so you could pull them in and out? Compared to all the other neat things they accomplished on this model, that seems like it would be an easy thing for them to do!! Aside from that, this is a great Lego project, and I had a lot of fun assembling it. I am in my 60's, so don't assume these things are just for kids! Enjoy it. By the way, I purchased the after market lighting kit made by Lightailing. It was a great addition, though not cheap, and rather complex to figure out how to install properly. I left a review on it seperately.

Husband loved it!
This was a random gift for my husband who was finally taking some time off of work- He absolutely loved it! there are so many fun surprises in this package from the headlights to the ejecting seat. Took him about 8 hours to assemble but he very much enjoyed it- him being someone extremely proficient in putting things together. His only gripe was that it was challenging at some moments to differentiate the colors of the pieces in the instructions. Fun gift for your Lego/Car loving friends/family
