Iris & Lily: Book Two

Love conquers all imperfections.
I loved the honesty of the story...perfect? No. But the relationships were very real and, despite all the flaws and hardships, they were loving. There was an openness that the sisters shared that, in my opinion, can only be understood by those of us who have/or have had a sibling...especially sister to sister. I am ordering Book 3 today!

Each of us will find some part of ourselves in this book.
Two sisters, both carrying wounds from their childhood, end up on separate continents. They communicate through writing trying to connect and overcome their anger and hurt. Such a poignant read. I was drawn in from the first page, and couldn't stop reading. So realtable and human, it tugged on my heart. One of my new favorites.

Dysfunctional family?!
Great story about family with 12 kids growing up in Rochester NY. start with book one and finish with book three. Watch Iris and Lily grow up through different troubles but reconcile at the end

Follow the chapters closesly to be sure which of the girls you are reading about.
You have to read book one before this one will make sense to you. But I was hooked 1/3 of the way through book one and could not wait for book 2 & 3. They seemed to move much faster through the story lines than book one but you definitely need to read them in order to understand the intricacies 0f the whole story.

I just finished reading Book 2. Book 1 was a good read and thoroughly enjoyed it as it reminded me of growing up in a large Italian family with similar lifestyle. Book 2 left me a bit disappointed. I may try Book 3 to see where it ends up after I read all the reviews for it. I was very disappointed by so many typos and hate reading a book when it is so poorly edited.

Love the series and the honesty of the sisters.
I'm relating to Lilly and understand how she feels about Iris. The back and forth emails Show how we can have the same experience but not the same memories. We hurt our siblings' feelings and don't understand why they may be upset. Can't wait to read book 3.

I have read all three books and love this series. Sad I’m through them but giving them to a friend to read.

Love this series
Felt part of the story having grown up at the same decade. Interesting way to involve two sisters with chapters about one sister then the other in same time frames. This is true for all three books.

Best Book I Ever Read? ... 2
I’m a very avid reader of many different genres of books. I had seen Iris and Lily advertised on face book as “the best book you will ever read.” I thought “ok, I’ll have to read it.” I looked for it in the bookstore, no luck. Then I tried Chapters.ca, still no luck. Over the course of the past year, I looked for it in three different countries as I was travelling, still with no luck. I think the fact that I couldn’t find it made me more determined to read it. Finally I went to Amazon.ca where I not only found it, but I learned that it was a series of three books so I ordered all three books.Book One had a slow start and it took me awhile to get into the rhythm of the book. I think this may have been caused by all the “hype” in finding the book.Book Two I enjoyed much more. It moved along and covered many different topics and went in a few surprising directions.Book Three...I wasn’t looking forward to the end of the series because I was enjoying the characters and the story. I found when it came to the end, it just ended. It was a let down for me after the different story lines to have it end the way it did.Did I enjoy the series....yes. The characters were well developed, once I got into the books it had a good flow and the storyline moved along but the ending was flat. A good read but they weren’t the best books I ever read.
