SchaeferVersa-Kool Air Circulator Fan W/Button Control, Ceiling Wall Mount Greenhouse Fan & Steel Guards, 1470 CFM

For 10 years I have used the 8-inch model by the Schaefer, and they still work perfectly. The 12-inch fans move 4 times the air [cfm = cubic feet per minute], and I needed more moving air in my greenhouse [40 ft. x 12 ft.]. 3 of the 12-inch move much, much more air. When the weather is moderate, I use the smaller fans. Perfect. Both sizes are mounted at the ceiling [roof] level, and are exceptionally quiet; they can be rotated to blow in any direction, too. A caution: When I bought the smaller fans more than a decade ago, they were wired. The 12-inch fans come with a separate plug so that they can be wired, by a professional, directly to the home•business•greenhouse•storeroom wiring if you prefer. If you cannot attach the 3-prong plug, call on someone who is knowledgeable to read the instructions on the fan and proceed. These are exceptionally good fans, and worth wiring correctly, of course. Installation is as easy as drilling a pilot hole and using a strong hex lag screw; I use stainless steel. I expect these fans to work for a decade and longer in my humid greenhouse environment -- and I am certain that they will.

These work with the variable speed controller very well and slowed down they do not overheat. Actually they didn’t heat up at all and we were checking with a IR thermometer.

Excellent for my purposes which is to keep really good air circulation in my garden room where I am growing seedlings.

Very well made fan, but missing parts, you would think they could put your hardware in a bag for this price, I will be heading to the hardware store today to find the missing bolts and washer so I can install it

This arrived with no instructions, only headers that it could be installed several ways??? Hence, it has been put up in the barn but is throwing the circuit off and not working. Another one was sent at the same time to another customer in my barn, also up and NOT working. Check instructions.

Fans arrived in seemingly good condition. After drilling out the holes, wiring the fans, and hanging them up I plugged them in and with 15 minutes two fans overheated and the 2 others smelled of electrical fire. They were wired properly and hung at the correct angle. They were quiet though which was nice, but I had to return them due to using them for a wedding venue and the smell was just too much.

Schaeffer previously used US components. Their spec sheet states this fan is made from US components. The fan I received is clearly made in china. Misleading and lying.
