Lucas Oil 10683-3PK 10W-40 Petroleum Oil - 5 Quart Jug, (Case of 3)

I have switched all of my old cars to this high zinc brand

I have done a lot of research on motor oils for my old Camaros, the more I read the less I know. Ran across this Lucas Hot Rod conventional oil and it meets all the specs needed for these older high performance engines. Good buy on Amazon for about the same price as the late specification synthetic oils.

As expected

Excellent product. My engine builder highly recommended this oil for all my traditional hot rods and collector cars stating modern, conventional oils lack the zinc and ingredients that keep oil bonded to the internal parts. Once this oil is added, parts stay very slick. Don’t try to pick them up or they can slip thru your grasp and fall to the ground. Slick as snot. I’d rather pay the higher price for this preventative maintenance verses rebuilding my engine with the watery products sold for modern cars.

Lucas does make a racing oil, and this is a street oil, but does the racing oil job for us. Racing oils often lack anticorrosive or other additives street oil have because the racing oil is supposed to be dumped after every racing weekend, not used year-round.

The product itself is great, it is great oil for classic cars that need the extra zinc. Lucas has never failed me with anything I have ever used from them. However, the shipping has a lot to be desired. When received I opened the box and it was saturated in oil, as were the jugs. The tops were not screwed on tight oil leaked everywhere. I wish they sold these 5 qt jugs in stores but i cannot find them anywhere local so have to order through here. Would expect more from speedway motors they are a good company as well.
