KEF Q50a Dolby Atmos Speaker (Black, Pair)

I've purchase a set of these for my newly built ATMOS setup.At first it was amazing, listening to those ATMOS demos, the output was quite the change from the normal 5.1 sound that I was used to.I've paired this with a set of Q750 and for a time, it was my best setup. Sadly, neighboors moved to the lower house and they complained quite a lot about sound output levels so I took these into my room (which is acoustically sealed) trying to hook them for gaming.My room setup for my lab is just a TX-SR393 which does not support the full 5.1.2 output but a rather simplistic 3.2.1. After testing these as ATMOS height speakers and as Surround speakers, I've ended up using them on the floor as Surround Side Speakers in my room 5.1 setup.I must say, the quality of these speakers as Surround is AMAZING. On this room I have a set of KEF Q350 so the match in sound is perfect, same quality output, less bass but for Gaming, the output is absolutely mind blowing.Either if you use them as ATMOS or as a standard Surround, these will not dissapoint. On my particular case, it was far better to use them as Surround since using them as ATMOS was not that significant in an 3.2.1 plus gaming wise I've loose positioning but as Surround, I can hear every detail while doing panning, trying to play DOOM Eternal or Shadow of the Tomb Raider is like I've never played those games before. I must redo all over again.Absolutely recommended for either use.

The last two speakers to compleat a KEF 7.2.2 sound system. Adds the last touch of sound to movies with Dolby Atmos. Can’t wait to kick back and enjoy the sound.

As a long time KEF fan I am thrilled to report that these speakers are just what I needed to complete my Dolby ATMOS and DTS X set-up. I listened to the speakers just playing stereo first in the proper positions and enjoyed a detailed soundstage. Then later I played various Dolby Atmos and DTSX trailers and again feel that I now have a home theater more than capable of performing at that level. Solid KEF quality.

If you have an Atmos capable receiver these speakers are a must. The sound is amazing.

Styling is everything for me and these speakers definitely deliver in that category. Sure, they sound great but they also look awesome.

The sound quality is amazing. At the price, these Dolby Atmos speakers are a steal.

One of the speakers doesn’t sit flush on my kef 750. It rocks and knocks when watching movies.
