VolcomMen's Frickin SNT Static 21" Modern Hybrid Short

These Volcom shorts fit perfect, not too baggy and fit well as expected in waist.Very glad to have found such a nice look short with leg just above knee.Thank you Volcom/amazon

I bought a pair for my partner, and he loved them SO much we had to come back and buy 3 more in different colors. They are true to size and he says they are mega comfy!

These shorts are amazing. They are true to size and extremely comfortable. The material is soft and pliable and the color is exactly as pictured. The best part about these shorts is you can either wear them with a t shirt to bum around in or put on a nice shirt and wear them as dressier shorts.

BOUGHT THESE FOR MY HUSBAND AND THEY ARE THE PERFECT LIGHT SHORT FOR SUMMER. HE SAYS THEY ARE LIGHTWEIGHT AND HE LIKES THAT HE DOES NOT GET ALL HOT AND STICKY !!

No more swamp ass or stains. I don’t get satins from swamp ass but as a server these are great easy to clean dependable shorts!

So the background is I had a pair of Volcom shorts that the Volcom store told me were called Static shorts, not Frickin Static shorts. They were size 36, and were great for two reasons - small angled pocket on the side (not quite a cargo, but great for holding a pocket knife or flashlight) and a zippered right rear pocket. The rear pocket zipper was tiny and very discreet and comfortable. I went to buy more of them after gettin gused to them for a year or so and could only find the Frickin series.Its the same comfortable feel, but the two reason my originals were great are the reasons this version is not as good. The rear right pocket is wide open and requires the grace of God to remain shut if you put anything in it, like a wallet. But the left pocket has a button to secure it closed - go figure. No EDC pocket, so my knife and light have to be rigged elsewhere, and that has proven to be very annoying as they are now not easily accessible. Zipper is wrapped in polymer or rubber...interesting feel over metal, but I'd happily take a zippered rear pocket over the zipper sleeve.The kicker is that I had to buy 38s...not 36s. I bought two pair - heather gray and black, and both 36s fit like 34s. I have always floated between 34-35 so 34 was too tight and 36 made sense for me. But 38? They fit the same, but its stupid its not the same fit between sizes. Thankfully I was able to return them quickly and get replacements through Amazon within a day. These otherwise are very comfortable shorts. The moisture wicking or boardshort-material is great because its lightweight, and its also stretchy. If I didn't need to carry as much crap daily these would be great.Pro's for comfort, cons for features.

Fits From skinny to buff 🙇‍♂️

I bought the black and khaki colors. I typically wear a 32 but I bought a 33 in both of them. The khaki one is a little too big but not big enough to fall off of me. I decided to keep it. The black pair is slightly big but they have a more fitted feel than the Khaki and I like the way they look on me. I am happy with both purchases. I'd advise anyone interested in buying these to use Amazon Prime Wardrobe to try before you buy. I could most likely fit into the 32 easily but I am happy with the looser feel of the 33. You might have a different opinion.Also - I bought an army green and black pair of the Bones Hybrid Shorts by Volcom. The black pair I use as swim shorts because they literally look and feel like swim shorts. The black pair of the Frickin SNT shorts do NOT feel like swim shorts. I would wear these out.

Great for casual biking/going out. Although they fade & turn nastyish brown. Maybe I washed them too often used them too much idk. Lasted me only the summer. Will get them again since they fit so damn well & try to be nicer to them. No biking.

Love the shorts but they fade and turn brown.

Followed the measuring guide, thought 32 would be perfect, sadly too large. I hate belting up pants too large. I bought a pair locally and 30 fit my perfectly. Weird measurements compared to my photo.
