A month into cord cutting and this was the last piece of the puzzle. I am fortunate to get 67, mostly desirable, channels from my OTA antenna. Combined with PlexPass I now have the ability to drop the basic cable that was the last piece of my corded life. As a stand alone, the HDHomerun would allow you to stream the OTA to any device in the house that supports the app. It changes channels quickly and, on an iPad, the channel guide on the right side of the screen is not standard but super intuitive. It's small enough that I was able to tuck it into my in wall media enclosure.If all you want is to stream your OTA channels on your mobile devices then the HDHomeRun is everything you need. If you want a robust channel guide and DVR, the HDHomeRun combined with PlexPass takes cord cutting to the level of standardization and integration to make cable a thing of the past. For the investment of a couple hundred dollars for the HD and Plex I was able to cut my cable bill from $240/mo to $45 for 100 MB internet.And I realize that this is as much about Plex as HDHomeRun but because Plex allows you to stream anywhere you get a signal, I was able to watch shows sitting on the beach waiting for fireworks on the 4th of July and we had gone early to get a good spot so I spent 2 hours watching shows instead of being bored. If you travel for work the ability to watch your home antenna or recorded shows anywhere in the world is damn cool. You can have that with most cable systems too but it will cost you as much as month as this combo costs in totality.

The device is great - instructions would have been nice! For example, to check signal strength when using your antenna, you have to look at the device's webpage on your network. Not referred to online or in the box! The antenna is working well, now that I spent quite some time placing it OUTSIDE, as the signal anywhere on my window was not up to much (even though that window faces the tower). Signals below 90% resulted in garbled pictures and failed DVR recordings.

Tunes in stations OK, not great, possible due to the antenna? Product description stated it shipped with a Terk antenna, I received an RCA.Software is weak, no mute, no closed caption on Live TV, any movement in live TV shows interlace type artifacts even with a strong HD signal. Can't record or pause live TV unless you want to cough up a re-occurring fee, or use and pay for a plex subscription. Volume control consists of "up" and "down" buttons you have to repeatedly click on, why not a slider? No way to set the IP address on the box, requires Windows SSDP service to discover the tuner.If you want to record and pause live TV there are options at 1/4 of the price of this box.

The tuner does everything you would hope, and it comes with a really good antenna.This does work with Synology Linux NAS and is plug and play with Plex (a huge plus for anyone with this setup). The only thing you have to be careful of is the NAS processor power. If you have a lower power NAS, this tuner will over task the NAS and not play. I have this tuner and the one with the built in encoder. The built in encoder works with my low power NAS (216j) and this tuner works for live viewing over WiFi.

This is a beautiful product. HOWEVER, A WARNING BEFORE HAND! FINDING THE RIGHT ANTENNA MAY BE DIFFICULT!! Depending on where you live, you may be forced to get a roof antenna. If you live in an area where there are a lot of tall buildings, you'll only pick up few channels. This is NOT the fault of the product, the way antennas work.

I am very pleased with this product. I use it to watch local TV downstairs from a projector. It is located upstairs connected to my router, and I have Ethernet running downstairs to a receiver that is connected to a projector. The performance is excellent. I also use the wireless capability to watch local TV on my phone and am pleased with the performance as well.

Works as advertised.

Use this to send OTA tv to two sets and to DVR using Plex. Great solution if your router and antenna are adjacent.
