Seal them with ease
these are a great price and more cost effective than k- cups but was worried about how to seal the pods without having to buy the expensive and seemingly unreliable sealer. I saw a post about using canning lids and Viola! It works perfectly! Get a small mouth canning jar ring (or several for assembly line action) and a few seconds with an iron and they seal perfectly.

Easy way to make pods – use a canning jar ring
Hoping to help others benefit from my experience. These work great...once you figure out an easy way to seal them. You need to apply heal to the circumference to hold the coffee in.There are illustrations on the box that show the filters being placed into some sort of pod-maker round thing a clothes iron being used to seal them. I went on a hunt to find a pod-maker that you use an iron with and came up short. Then I started looking around my house. Long story short. I found the ring from a mason jar lid works great! You know the one's that close with a flat disc over the jar and then you screw a ring on top to seal the jar. Use that ring from a regular sized mason jar (not a wide mouth). The bottom of these pod filters fit perfectly in the hole in the mason jar ring and the rim of the pod that you seal sits perfectly around the circumference of the ring, Just place the pod filter in the mason jar ring, spoon in the desired amount of coffee, close the top flap over the pod and use the heat from your clothes iron to seal the pod. Just put your iron right on top of the pod on the ring and in a few seconds it's sealed...and you've got a nice homemade coffee pod. Be careful when you remove the pod, the mason jar ring may be hot from sealing the pod with the iron. Once I got the hang of it, I can turn 'em out one after the other -- who whole big batch in minutes. I LOVE these filters!!!Happy pod making...and enjoy your coffee!

Easy to seal with an iron and a jar lid!
These are just great. I made about 12 pods for an upcoming trip. Someone recommended using the lid band from a canning jar and it works just fine. Below you can see the pod with coffee in the lid, then the paper flap over the top. I had the iron set for cotton, then put it on the lid/pod for about 5-10 seconds. I checked each one for a seal and only had one that I had to go back and put a little more heat on to get it to seal in one spot. Let's hear it for sharing DIY tricks!

Smal compact and works great
So I bought these for my coffee snob husband. He only drinks expensive coffee and we couldn't find pre-made pods for his brand. We use these for our individual coffee maker in our camper. I do not drink coffee so a whole pot isn't needed. Everything is now kcup and he isnt a hugh fan of those so I tried these. They work amazingly and I can store 11 of them in 1 small mason jar. Which brings me to my point of the pictures... make sure you have a mason jar so its easier for you to seal them. I took the advice of another reviewer and used the lid without middle to form a perfect ironing ring they sit perfectly in to seal once you put coffee in them. I used 2 tablespoons in each one since he also likes it strong. Thats the most coffee you can fit into cup anyway. Then set iron on cotton/linen setting and pressed for about 1 min just to seal good. He now takes them on business trips also. Hope the pics of what you need to make them and description helps my fellow coffee snobs or their wives lol

It's hard to find instructions on how to seal the pods without a fancy machine, but I Googled it & it can be done!
I bought these for Christmas, for my mother-in-law, who wants one cup of coffee now & then and uses instant coffee, but loves brewed. I didn't know how in the world to seal these. There are instructions on how to use it with the Perfect Pod Maker, but that thing is $149.00, at the moment, so no. lol I searched on Google and found a reviewer that gave very good instructions on how to put the pod inside a small mouth canning ring, fill the pod with your dose of coffee, close it and iron it for about 5 seconds. I don't remember the setting, but the heat should be enough to cause the iron to emit steam. I got the idea that a mini flat iron we had would seal these pods perfectly and it did! I tried out a few, being careful to go all along the rim with the flat iron, each spot getting about 10-12 seconds on high setting. This worked great for the few I tried out today, no grounds! But if I was going to do a big batch, I'd definitely use the canning ring and the steam iron. Oh, also, I like mellow coffee, so I used 1 & 1/2 coffee scoops in these pods. I think you could fit 2 scoops in the pods. Somewhere online today I read that you should fill the pods about 1/2 - 3/4 full with a teaspoon, I just used my coffee scoop, since that's what I usually use.

They work without sealing the edges first
These. Are. Amazing! Turned my finicky about grind and messy to use Delonghi espresso machine into a reliable and easy to clean espresso machine! To the naysayers who complained about needing to buy a machine to seal the filters into pods.... You do NOT have to seal these around the espresso before using unless you want to make some “to go” packages. Simply use these like you would a coffee filter for an espresso machine. Your espresso will stay fresher that way and it is literally zero work to use it as a filter. Look at my photos by way of example. Place the filter in the basket., add espresso, lay the filter top over the espresso, place carefully into your machine and lock in place. I found I do not need to tamp with the filters, dumps right out for easy cleaning, and perfect crema every single time... despite the grind. I have had no issues with the filters slipping out of place because I didn’t seal them first with a machine or iron. Seriously it is as easy as using a coffee filter and makes cleanup a breeze. I would give this product 50 stars if I could!!!
