German Quality!
11/22/2024 Initial review:Seller responded to generator queries immediately, very courteous and professional! I ordered this generator because I spoke to to an intelligent english speaking human and the generator was of German manufacture which I appreciate since owning and professionally servicing(Bosch automotive Service Center) german vehicles(Porsche/Audi) for over forty years, I have come to regard German engineering to be well thought out and supports logical repairability well.I have a 25YO German generator (Endress 4500 watt)) that has served me well, I needed a lighter(I am disabled), dual fuel, electric start, & an inverter generator (to recharge an EcoFlow 12kWh DELTA Pro Ultra backup battery system) to power a 2000 sq ft. home. The KS 6000iEHS CO met all my needs, it does support 220v/30amp (via a NEMA L14-30R connection) the Amazon picture showed a three terminal receptacle, which is for possibly a different market!?It arrived well via UPS(from Austin, TX) well packaged with a plastic wrap around the outer box and an additional inner wrapper. Well cushioned with a polyethylene dense foam (not the dreaded fracturing polystyrene) Tools supplied: Reversible screwdriver, spark plug tool, & proper oil funnel) are all solid quality(German!?) The outer panels are not quick release except for the well placed access panels for the battery(LiLon), carb access, oil drain/fill, & spark plug. Main panels are secured with snap on areas and screws, which are about 10mm in length fine thread, so an electric screwdriver might be in order.I have not yet started the unit because of nasty weather, I plan on utilizing propane to avoid the hassle of gasoline(draining, handling (my disability)) I'm also considering an EZ oil drain valve with a hose extension before adding oil.I really like the generator so far, very compact & easy to move, high quality (not Chinese), and well thought out. I will follow up with an additional review(s) after initial startup and further use. -RobUpdate 12/8/24:I filled the crankcase with oil (1qt-1W30 synthetic) and connected the battery ground connection that is shipped unconnected to preserve the battery charge. I would recommend placing a rag temporarily under the fill port to collect any errant oil, my battery powered screwdriver made re-installation of the battery access cover much easier.I connected the supplied propane(LPG) regulator/hose to the generator (19mm open end wrench needed to tighten the engine side collar nut) hooked up my 30lb propane tank and opened it’s valve, turned the run knob to LPG and pressed the ‘start’ button on it briefly a couple of times to move LPG gas into the carburetor, then a longer press on it to start. It started immediately and smoothed out after a few seconds, it was much quieter than my old Endress cage style generator. So far I am happy with my purchase, dual fuel, electric start, & easy movability are all appreciated. The compact design is also a plus for me, you give up quick and easy accessibility to all areas of the generator, but the covers quiet the unit down and the well placed access panels mitigate that to some extent. Individuals with large hands may disagree. I bailed on the EZ Drain oil fitting, the drain hole location would make it difficult.I used a 10mm 1/4 drive socket with an extension and it was easily serviceable. Below the oil drain bolt is the casing drain hole, the unit will need to be elevated to drain the oil into a catch pan.An Amazon review mentioned their unit was of Chinese manufacture, I could not find a ‘Made in China’ sticker or any indication of the country of manufacture. There was this imprinted on the engine case.Engine number and type. I could not find anything other than ‘Made for Dimax’ (parent company of K&S) on the shipping box. I would not be surprised if K&S partnered with a firm in China. Many companies do, to offer a lower cost on their products. The success of that depends on the manufacture’s oversight and quality control protocols. When I dealt with any automotive component(even Bosch) we used for repair, that was apparent with anything. Some companies figured it out and others did not, everything I have seen on my K&S 6000iEHS-CO looks solid and well thought out. As with anything, time will tell.To maintain the LiLon battery, K&S recommended their KS-B2A charger. From the K&S website that charger had battery terminal clamps. I wanted to utilize the charger socket on the front of the 6000iEHS-CO, so I purchased a Lithium 1A battery maintainer/charger. I have Schumacher maintainers installed on my vehicles but I read good things on the NOCO units and they supported optional battery connection options via their proprietary ‘X’ connector. Since I would be installing a 5.5x2.5mm barrel connector to utilize the charging port on the generator and cutting off the eyelets on the adapter cable, I went with a non NOCO eyelet cable which is of good quality and plugs into the NOCO ‘X’ connector.NOCO Battery maintainer:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07W46BX31?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_titleEyelet cable:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DCB9YFWS?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1A decent generator cover that fits the K&S 6000iEHS-CO:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D44NM3VJ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Quiet but powerful 220V Inverter Generator
Starts quickly with the electric start and runs very quiet. Quality is pretty good however it is not German built as the add leads you to believe. Also is relatively compact for a 5KW unit. The things that need improvement are the wheels, they are entirely too small to use on anything but a smooth surface. Also no battery charge cable is provided for the internal starter battery. This should be built in!

Just as good as the big brand without the price
