First of all it fits 16/22 pipe work.( user manual can be found on internet for all dimensions) You will probably need additional pipe or adapters if your filter uses different size pipes.Important the hose nozzles must be hand tightened (as stated in manual) .Check all seals are fitted properly.I have been running my UV for 4 months now I leave it on 24/7 .I have stuck a small mirror on the cabinet above the unit so l can see the blue light is on showing everything is working.I intend to change uv light 💡 every year ( hopefully it last a year) Have I noticed any water difference,Yes absolutely .The water is crystal clear the aquarium fish 🐠 also look healthier.Remember to turn UV unit off when the filter is being cleaned .I turn mine back on after 15 minutes after filter has restarted making sure the air bubbles have completely gone.2 YEARS later.Still working.No problems .No leaks.I leave uv on 24/7 change uv light every year even though the light is still working .I do not touch the connection pipes ,I just turn unit off open unit replace uv light check glass tube is clean put silicone on both seals.Have new seal ready just in case.DONT turn unit on until your filter is up and running.Just about to order a new Philips uv light it’s gone up from£11 to £29 will be looking for alternative hope I can find a good quality one.?.

I've been maintaining fish tanks for a few years and never had the necessity to extend external filtrations. When I discovered the UV-C sterilization process I wanted to give it a try as the idea to guarantee fungi-free and crystal clear water was quite interesting, especially when fishes get old is a nice thing you want to do for your fishes. This product is well made, it's quite flexible in terms of placement (you can install it vertically or horizontally, which is pretty important when your fish tank stand doesn't allow you to place screws). The package contains a Philips lamp which lasts 6 months and is easily replaceable with a cost of around £6-8.My current tank has now virtually no algae, water is pretty clear and most important... the filter lasts twice before getting dirty... it seems like there is way less waste within the filter canister.

I am pleased with the result. My tank is close to a patio door so does get quite a bit of sunshine, so my water was getting cloudy. Fitted this (which was tricky due to size) and ran for fours days, the water is much clearer now. I now have this on a timer and its runs for 4 hours per day, enough to keep the algae at bay. I am pleased with the result.

It is not easy to install due to limited instruction.Be very certain of the lengths of hose you require before making any cuts to your outlet. (Recommended to only go on outlet).You really need to understand the inlet and outlet have to be very tightly attached to negate all leaks. So make certain you have them at the position you need them to be so as not to restrict the flow of your canister filter.

A-little bit awkward to set up in older set up piece of cake on a new set up do not over tighten the connections

arrived on time and well packed I went for this uv light as I have just brought the same make of filter and I am very happy with it

Product seems to be working. As per usual all connections plastic so some sealing probs if not 100 % true.
