Hallow Be the Haunt: A Krewe of Hunters Novella

Rating: 3.5 StarsHALLOW BE THE HAUNT was a short romantic suspense that I surprisingly enjoyed more than I truly thought I would. Since I was in the mood for something quick and creepy though, I decided to give this story a try. I honestly didn't have high hopes for it however since I read this couple's original full-length book (HEART OF EVIL) some years ago and wasn't all that impressed. I specifically remember that I did not like Ashley then, but I didn't feel the same way about her here. I'm not so sure if I would have liked this story as much though if I hadn't read their other story first...Truthfully, this novella felt a bit like an extended epilogue for "Heart of Evil" since we already have a happily engaged couple at the onset. I rather liked catching up with Jake and Ashley though, as well as a couple of the other Krewe team members. And although this story wasn't nearly as scary as some of Graham's other books, it does have chilling moments of its own. I'll also admit that the killers kept me guessing and in the end the ultimate mastermind behind everything caught me completely unawares, which was a nice surprise since I usually have that part figured out.Overall this story didn't knock my socks off, but there was definitely enough action, romance, and suspense to keep me entertained. With lovable characters and an intriguing plot that thankfully wasn't overused, I enjoyed the couple or so hours I spent immersed in this tale. Not only were there thrills and chills, but Jake's love and concern for Ashley's safety practically jumped off the pages and I just thought they made an adorable and devoted pair. Even the love scenes were well done for once. I do wish there had been an epilogue dedicated to the wedding, but all in all a decent read =)Pages & Kindle Locations: The story itself contained 116 pages and ended at 95% and location 1828.

This was the worst---pitiful storyline and a waste of paper. This series has run its course. Weak characters, lame plot, and stupid ending....can you tell I hated it????

First time reader of this author and now i am hooked. This was such a great, easy and creative book. i was hooked after the first page.The characters were easy to fall in love with and follow, along with the story. the author made the mental visions so easy and vivid of the surroundings and the characters actions felt so real.i would highly recommend this author and this book.

I have all of the Krewe books and have bought Heather Graham books since she was a romance writer. I felt this story was underwhelming. It didn't have enough suspense or enough paranormal.I find the Krewe books introduce around 6-10 new characters each book so it is tough to keep track of who is who and their relationships.I know this couple, Ashley and Jake were from an earlier book but the supporting characters were all new.I will still continue to buy Krewe books and I hope this one was the weakest one in the series.

I had a hard time trying to not only figure out what the characters were doing but why they were doing it! Hopefully the next book will be better?

It was a very quick read I always like catching up with a Krewe of Hunters. I felt the ending was too quick put together

I really like the way that this ties into the Krewe of Hunter series. It fills in some additional information betweem the regular books.

This was another winner. I love her characters and great storylines in every book. I highly recommend all her books to everyone who loves mysteries, murder, and ghosts with a good love story. Diana Romano

A great Halloween read!

I enjoyed it! I would consider it a light read, no big suspense but I like the Krewe of Hunters series!!!

It was not a full length book. Yet it was a full price book. Loved the story, disappointed with the rest.
