Great housing and filter
181011 - this is the third water filter and clear blue housing from this vendor. great customer service!! the relief valve on this particular order was damaged on opening the box. i contacted the vendor by phone through amazon and a replacement was immediately sent first class mail. at this time the filter and housing are working very well.i really like the fact i can - view - the condition of the filters in these clear blue housings. these housings are heavy when filled with water and a wet filter. i didn't want to have to unscrew each housing to check the condition of each filter so these clear blue housings are perfect, for us. this is the third and last filter & housing in our setup. the other two were installed 10 months ago and we're very satisfied with them. the gentleman on the other end of the phone call was very knowledgeable and courteous.i did go to home-depot and buy large hex bolts, hex lag screws and washers for all eight bolts for our setup, for each filter and housing we have. the bolts for the bracket-to-housing connection are philip (+). i was concerned about stripping the philips and then having a hard time removing them. these hex-head bolts/screws are a simple and easy remedy. as per other reviewers here on amazon have mentioned i also bought from amazon food-grade silicone grease to grease the threads of the housings to make sure they wouldn't be hard to screw off.after research and a little experience i set our filter and housing setup as follows: 5-micron sediment, 1-micron sediment, gac charcoal filter. following these three filter and housings we have a triple action salt-free water conditioner from filterwaterdirect, which we bought here on amazon as well. our tds readings have dropped significantly though its still not where - i - would like it to be. reverse osmosis is one solution but not practical for whole house filtering.the other remedy would be to put a salt water softener first in line directly from the water supply coming in followed by the above setup. as we didn't want a salt taste in our water just to reduce the tds i installed the setup mentioned above. this is a learn-as-you-go process. get yourself a good tds meter, which i also bought here on amazon. make a data sheet to keep track on the tds readings, what size micron filter used and in which location, the date and time of course, and any notes and place this by the filters and housings.at this time i'm very satisfied with these filters and housings from this vendor. great customer service.

Leaks badly
Installed this using crimps and push to fit 1 inch connectors. Bought two Blueonics clear plastic 5x20 inch. One has the charcoal and the other is the 5 micron sediment filter. Both are ruggedly made, both the clear housing and the metal input and output piece that connects to included bracket. Having read previous reviews I carefully put around triple the usual number of teflon tape windings and finished that by smearing pipe thread compound over that. Then I tightened them on my workbench much tighter than I usually do to guarantee no leaks. I put my filters togethers, connected the water supply and there are NO LEAKs except at the input fittings of both Blueoinics. Every other fitting, every water valve, tee and elbow is perfectly dry. I carefully tightened the fittings a little bit more but no luck, there is still a nasty leak. The outputs are fine and I used the same amount of teflon tape and compound so the problem is with their poor input fittings. The clearances must not be uniform and their instructions do not make this clear at all.

Maybe I got a bad one.
The canister part is durable and great cause it’s clear and that makes it easier to see when it needs a filter change. Now the bad doesn’t come with inlet and outlet reducers and mine leaked twice. Finally after quite a bit of tape no leaks. Think it’s enough add more. The head had a very slight crack in it beside the pressure relief button, not sue if it came that way or if I did it, and I emailed the seller and promptly got 2 additional pressure relief buttons, not what I needed but thank you, I was looking to buy a replacement head if it’s available to rule out why I’m getting air in my lines as I replaced everything else. I have tried calling 3 times and left a message to call me back,so I could verbally explain what I need, but I haven’t received a return call. I will now be forced to find a different seller or a completely new filter to ensure it’s not where the air is entering my lines.

You will need to buy adapters plumb it into the filter housing. Too many ways to install
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! lesser quality products go for 3 times the cost. It was super easy to install and has virtually eliminated the iron and undiluted solids in my water. It’s made of super thick and durable plastics, I bet you could drive a tank over the top head. It comes with a filter tool and a sturdy mounting bracket. I bought the 4 pack of filters as well, that should last me a couple years.

Excellent filter
This filter is a good quality product. It has to be connected extra tight, can't blame equipment for somebody's poor threading job. As you see on a pic I have two unions on each side, re-tightening was easy, but once you glue it you kind of stuck with the leaking one, or you got way more work to do.

Awesome product!
I like the clear housing to be able to see filter status. Was easy to hook into water lines from our well. Filter is inside heated garage to avoid freezing. I use it as a prefilter for a 5 micron filter/carbon before it enters the house. Would buy again if I needed one. Caution: It is HEAVY when changing filter out as filter AND housing are loaded with water. Care should be excersized to avoid dropping adn cracking housing.

Beware
One year and it busted. Luckily it was in my garage and only flooded that and destroyed everything on the ground....

Threads leak
Overall happy with the filter but the complaints about the threads leaking is true , I’m not a novice at plumbing it was sealed properly with Teflon but still leaked , I will attempt to fix it today. Would have given it five stars with no leaks.
