Not what I expected
This book is outdated and therefore quite irrelevant. It might have been good 5 years ago, but most of the practices that are put forward as innovative are already well established. I wouldn’t recommend it.

No new concepts and no actionable takeaways
I was hoping to find some new methodology and concepts but there weren't any new ones. A lot of fluff and is quite generic. No tangible takeaway for me.

A book for all agile and all to be agile people.
This is a perfect book for a person working in HR, or for anyone just wanting to learn more about being an agile leader or just getting a greater agile mind set.It is great if you are an agile beginner but also if you have been into the agile world for years. You will still pick up some good stuff from Pia-Maria and the other contributors in this book, all recognized authorities within the agile world community. You read through it without getting tired in your eyes because frequently tables comparing the agile way with the traditional way are shown or you get to read clever wisdoms from agile specialist. Why don't give this book for the upcoming Christmas to your favourite HR person?

A solid read on HR’s role in an agile world
Pia-Maria displays a solid grasp of agile principles, while seapking to HR professionals. It is critical in my opinion that HR professionals grok the agile movement and this book makes a great contribution in this direction. I would recommend every HR person to familiarize herself/himself with these ideas.

It's time for the rest of the company to catch up and HR is a great place to start
Software development teams have been working with agile methodologies for over 15 years. It's time for the rest of the company to catch up and HR is a great place to start. Thank you Pia-Maria for jump starting the initiative by sharing your knowledge. Bravo!

Great exploration of agility
I liked the approach of holding a conversation around the book's main themes with lots of other participants. it also confronted most of the complexities surrounding agile behaviours head-on.

At last!
If you're one of those people who are convinced (and occasionally scream) that "there must be a better way" then this is a must read.Like many business leaders, I have to manage the tension between ensuring appropriate and sustainable financial returns, whilst at the same time creating a great place to work. We desperately need a more intelligent, practical and effective way to create an environment where people come to work in the morning enthusiastic and leave at the end of the day proud and energised by what they have achieved. Frustratingly current HR practices (even some quite progressive ones) are not fit for purpose and there are huge amounts of energy, skill and innovation left untapped that drag performance down at every level. This book achieves that rare balance of rigorous, evidence based thinking, combined with practical guidance on how to apply it, making it a real gem that can be used in any organisation.Agile People should be mandatory reading for every HR leader and anyone concerned with creating a high performing organisation.

A clear view on Agile HR
If you're studying (or even work in) Human Resources - this book is amazing. I wrote my dissertation around agility in the workplace, this book was sort of my go-to manual. At the end of each chapter, it compares traditional approaches to agile methodologies. Brilliant.

Not inspired, not offered practical advice.
Not impressed. Did not help me, either through inspiring me for the transformation of my team / dept into one applying agile methodologies, or by offering practical advice.
