I have had other soil testers similar to this one, but this is the best one I've had. It was packaged extremely well and arrived safely. It already came with batteries installed and even has extra batteries, unheard of in most products. It has displayed my indoor plants conditions easily and I highly recommend this product.

The switch between the different settings is hard to tell which setting its actually on.Otherwise, it does what advertised

Based on user ratings, this device looks impressive. However when it is put to the test on three features, there were accuracy problems on two...SUNLIGHT VALUE: The needle moved two notches or a sunlight value of 20, when the unit was outside during a sunny Seattle afternoon. Second, I positioned it between two intersecting 11 watt LED growth lights, 3 feet away. The results were the same. Third, I went to my garage, kitchen, and living room - identical readings..No matter where I went, a 20 reading was the measurement. According to the device, everywhere was dark..So, how much light is needed to move beyond this level? I touch the device's photo sensor to a 13 watt LED light bulb - 1,100 lumens of brightness. The needle jumped to 1,000 on the scale. The same was done with a 100 watt flood light - 11,500 lumens of brightness. The needle moved to 1,960 on the scale...AIR TEMPERATURE: The HSLGOVE tester said room temperature was 80.6F in my kitchen. The wall thermostat said 73F. A digital cooking thermometer measured 73.4F..There was a 7F inaccuracy on the high side...SOIL TEMPERATURE: Inserting probes into a pot of soil, my digital cooking thermometer reported 63.6F. The HOLGOVE said 62.4F. Although both are not identical, the measurements were very close. So, the product was accurate on soil temperature...I do not have the tools to measure soil moisture, fertility, or PH. For these reasons, accuracy on these features can not be checked and verified...-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------..UPDATE: LCD screen died after a few days.

Unfotunately I had to return since I could not read.

Great meter.

I compared the light measure with a few other products and the light is completely wrong. It can be a defect of the product that I received but there are other similar reviews.
