Worthy of the Golden Oakleaves, Swords and Diamonds
I really cannot improve upon R. Stewart's review. This is a publication that screams "quality!". Everything about it sets a standard that is awesome. The sturdy slip case; the design of the case and dust jackets; the quality of the paper; the size and font of the printed word; the quality of the photographs. Then there is the content. I really don't see how this publication could be improved upon. It is worth every penny and is recommended without hesitation. An absolute joy just to handle.

Excellent
I waited sometime for this 2 volume set. I wasn't disappointed I thought the photos were great some I hadn't seen before but others I had. Interesting to read about the recipients and was impressed by the book.

Really excellent.
I bought this 2 Volume set directly from the author an expensive buy but absolutely no regrets it is what I was looking for and hoped to receive.the set comprises two very high quality books , the publisher has done a very good job in terms of quality of build, presentation and clarity. The books give the reader an A -Z listing of all the recipients , this takes the format of a good quality photograph, an outline of their career, how they achieved their award, post war history and a listing of all other awards received. To simply say this is a useful resource is something of an understatement as it lists 889 men in total from all services, Heer, kriegsmarine, Luftwaffe and Waffen SS ,and it goes beyond other works readers may be familiar with eg Jost Schnider's book on Waffen SS RK holders and will complement both Jost's work and the excellent series on German Cross Holders ( of the Waffen SS presently being researched and writen by Mark Yerger). This work will interface very readily with other good quality histories and will I am sure be a fine edition to any serious reader of WW2 history.I have been reading WW2 history since I was eight or nine years old and would count myself as being quite well read, but I have found in this fine set a number of men who are not known to me , many whom "I know well" , and those whom I have an awareness of, it may be similar for any who obtain this set.The quality of research is evident from the word go and the acknowledgement section does show that the author has been well supported in putting this study together this s along with his own very considerable efforts gives a very well finished study.Make no mistakes , this is not a cheap investment you will be making but it is one which is worthwhile. The publisher has mentioned previously has done a good job in producing the two volumes, printing , paper quality, photographic reproduction, lay out , presentation of information is clear , orderly concise and very user friendly, both books come in a high quality sturdy slip case which itself is illustrated in the presented in style and colour to match the two books which it holds.
