This is a great set for the price. I especially liked the assortment of ink cartridges. But since there is no way to seal the cartridges once they are punctured, I will have to stick with one cartridge/color until the ink runs out. With regard to the colors, it offers the usual black, blue, and red, but I really like the more unusual colors like brown, purple, light green, light blue, pink, and orange. The light green is especially interesting—it is like a light lime green. While I didn’t think it would be easy to read, it actually works quite nicely on white paper.The pen itself has a nice width and weight. I would say the pen is medium to thin, but it is comfortable to hold. The cap sits firmly on the end of the pen, and it gives the pen and overall balanced heft. The cap secures the pen with a click, and it was easy to twist on or off the writing portion with the nib. The cartridges were easy enough to attach and detach, but you do need to apply a little force. I like how the set came with multiple nibs of different sizes. I usually use fine and medium nibs, so I am glad that this set also includes a board 1.1 nib as well as an extra fine to experiment with. I am also glad that I looked up what a fude nib was, and how it is used. Otherwise, I would have thought that one of the nibs was bent in transit and tried to bend it back with pliers.Overall, this is a great set for beginners, children, and general use. It comes with everything you need to get started, and the nibs are easy to use. Some of the ink cartridge colors are quite fun, and it all comes in a handy storage box with a magnetic cover.

I've used fountain pens for years and this one has some really nice features. The variety of nibs, selection of color inks and the ink converter really recommend it. The pen is hefty enough to feel pleasant in the hand, but not so heavy as to cause your hand to tire easily. The assembly and use is pretty standard, though I found it took a touch longer than usual to get the ink flowing the first time. This pen offers one of the smoothest lines and most drip-less writing that I have encountered. The quality of the metal nibs also means there is no scratchy feeling as you write and your paper will not be damaged, which I have occasionally encountered with other pens. The packaging is attractive and definitely gift-worthy.

A bit of carelessness or something here. The nib installed in the pen came badly bent. I'll just toss that one I guess since the others are in good shape. They could use some kind of cushion in the box I think since all the nibs were thrown into a big mess in there.The ink is a beautiful blue and those other nibs write smoothly.

This set arrived in an impressive magnetic box. Unfortunately, upon opening it, it looked like a lot of things of mishmash nature or thrown in haphazardly. The pen works well, but is not very well weighted. I do like that. It comes with extra ink and that the nib seems to flow very well. Overall, I think this is a great starter set for someone who is interested in seeing if they like calligraphy work. This is not something that I would an average adult, however. it simply feels a little too cheap to come across as a thoughtful gift. To be fair, the low cost of this set is pretty amazing.

I'm pretty satisfied with this fountain pen set. It comes with a variety of colors, unlike many other sets out there on the market. The nibs are easy to install, and they should last a decent length of time with moderate use. The pen itself is strong and easy to hold. The included case is convenient for keeping all accessories together and in one place. Simply put, it writes like butter on paper and makes me feel like our ancestors would have enjoyed writing in the many colors included in the set. Five stars for a really nice set. Another plus, I would say this can make an excellent gift.

I just received this and so far it's great. The pen writes smoothly and was almost dreamy to use. The included nibs are 1.1mm, Extra Fine, Fine, Medium and a Fude (tip bent upwards).Setting up the pen with the pre-filled tube was a breeze. I love the variety of ink colors avaliable. You get extras of the staple colors of black, blue and red. The bottle of ink is a dark blue. Reminded me of dark denim jeans.This is a nice set for a beginner and I'm glad I got it.

This is a great set for beginners. It comes in a nice folding magnetic box. It comes with your pen, a refillable ink cartridge, a box with a dozen+ non refillable ink cartridges including some colors, and then 5 different pen nibs. Getting it up and running was easy and I was immediately able to pull off some nice flourish calligraphy. This is not a super high quality set, but it works and its a great introduction to fountain pens.

really nice set, color of the ink looks great, super excited to play around with this some more and get used to it. instructions are super straight forward and easy to follow
