Q: Why can't you charge 3S batteries on this board? I can't believe there is some kind of logic builtin that would prevent this. Can anyone confirm.

I guess technically you could as long as all batts were 3s, but the board has 4s jst connnectors so a 3s balance plug might break the tab off. And you would need to make sure the lipo ground wires are in the right place. But don’t mix 3s and 4s.

Q: Can I charge less than the full ten batteries, or do all ten need to be connected to charge?

You can also use this board to discharge several lipo batteries using a discharging block (ISDT FD-100 or similar). If you're not going to use your lipos within a few days of charging, it is very important to discharge them to a storage level of charge (approx 30%). This will help to preserve their efficiency and functionality. Obviously you'll need to discharge the same size batteries (cell count and capacity), but it works well and it'll definitely help to extend the life of your expensive lipo batteries.
