As good as it gets
I got this bar to replace a smaller one that my 8 year old has grown out of and I am extremely impressed with it. The bar itself is close to a real gymnastics bar, not a large wooden dowel like the previous bar I had. This gives it a bit of spring/flex, just like a professional setup. The frame is very rigid, well-designed, and nice to assemble. The problem many people will likely have is the bar sliding on the ground. I solved this problem by bolting the frame to the (garage) floor and it is absolutely rock solid after doing that -- a credit to the strength of the frame itself. Without that, or possibly weighting the corners of the frame, I think a larger child's aggressive moves like kips are likely to scoot the bar around. With one of those measures, I (165 pound adult) can do a kip on this bar without issue. For pull overs and back hip circles, children will likely have no issue even without bolting or weighting.I think the only step up from this bar would be a full professional setup with guy wires bolted into the floor. Do note the dimensions clearly labeled in the description as this bar is large.

Great value for an at home bar
Are you looking to exactly recreate what you would find at a gymnastics facility? Then go spend ten times as much and grab your hammer drill. Looking for something reasonably sturdy for fitness and low level skills? This is one of the better options you will find. The base is longer and wider, with larger triangles for reinforcement compared to most other bars, and it goes to taller settings. Using the tallest setting does make the bar noticeably wobblier, but since it goes higher, you can achieve normal "low bar" height without being too wobbly. The bar has a decent feel once chalked up but it is less bouncy than a normal bar, probably owing to the width. What can you do on this bar? I guess that depends on how brave and/or crazy you are. To give you a frame of reference, for a 110 lb, level 6 (USAG) skill gymnast, this is what I felt comfortable with:Bar as-is: level 3 skills as the whole bar rocked off the ground when I tried to kipBar with four 45 lb bags of gravel on the legs: level 4 low bar skillsBar set to maximum height 70": fitness moves such as pull ups, pullovers, and leg lifts only (long hang kips or tap swings caused the whole bar to rock even with 180lbs of extra weight)A smaller gymnast could probably do a bit more, but the mats to do more safely would cost a lot more than this bar does. A smallish adult or teen is fine to actually kip on this bar, unlike some so-called "kip bars" which I have used at gyms and found to be too flimsy. All in all, if you know what you are getting, this bar is a great value. It is definitely a step up from most of the preschool-focused at home bars.

Very well made and my daughter loves it!
The media could not be loaded. This is the only thing my gymnast wanted for Christmas, and I'm so glad we chose this one. It's very well made and sturdy. It has a nice wide base that is impossible to rock/tip. It does move a little on our Pergo flooring, but that's to be expected. Your gymnast will, however, have to work to get the chalk worked into the bar before she will be able to swing smoothly, as my daughter found out the hard way lol. She's usually much smoother on her back hip circle than this video shows. This was right after we set it up. Now that she's worked on it several times and gotten chalk worked into the bar, she's able to swing much easier. I definitely recommend this if your daughter is serious in pursuing gymnastics. It is well made and is able to be raised to grow with your child. My daughter has even used it to practice her squat on in preparation for moving to the high bar. Definitely worth the price!

Fantastic solid bar for older kids.
Solid, does not jump when doing hip circles or kips. It does take up quite a bit of space, so be prepared.

Great buy so far.
Very easy to assemble. I highly recommend the 6 foot width if you have the room for it. I bought it for my 9 year old grand daughter but her dad is all over it as well teaching her. It is very sturdy although we did have to tighten up the bolts after it was used for a day or two. My only disappointment is it doesn't come with a mat and buying one separately costs more than I paid for the bar...

GREAT PRODUCT / read about assembly first
works great... BUT the directions are lagging... first thing separate the screws there are a couple of shorter screws that you need to put in the correct spot (find them first, or you will have to take it all apart to find them. as I recall they go in the top of tube supports... This is so the adjustable section can fit inside and then be secured by the knobs)
