I ordered 2 for my balcony. I put in the batteries and set it to timer so the would come on at dawn. Whatever time you turn them on is the time they will automatically come on every day. The lamps don't give off much light but just add an amber glow to your area. Mostly for visual effect. It makes my balcony look inviting in the evening. You can either hang them up by the handle, or set them on a table.

I got one lamp to try (blue). Then got 3 more, 2 for gifts. The lamps are awesome and provide a really great ambiance to any spot. The flickering is slow and gradient, which is important to me, as I do not find fast-changing fake candles relaxing. Do not expect to read by the light. It is exactly what it is meant to be - a candle lantern. They are beautiful. Using brand new rechargeable batteries that were fully charged the lamps last about 3.5 days without shutting them off during the day. So really awesome. The battery compartment cover on the bottom of the lamp is a little hard to open, so I just left it off since I'm using lamps inside. Love them.

I got an amber one and I like it a lot! It’s a nice size, the crackled glass looks very pretty, and the candle “flickers” very naturally. I like the timer mode so it will turn itself off at the end of the night. Unfortunately it arrived damaged despite being packaged very well. One of the handles was detached from the base but I thought I could fix it with some high-quality glue (the part is metal). I called Amazon to see if they would cover the cost of repair material and they offered 25% discount which I accepted. In the end I am very happy with the lantern and I’m also glad to keep and fix a slightly defective item instead of throwing it out. Kudos to Amazon for working with me on this.

where to install Batteries ,in item ,is broken. so can’t light up!

Love this, I bought two and I’m considering buying a few more. The light is nice and soft creating a perfect background for listening to crickets on my patio and drinking wine

I received a few of the lanterns and found that the light levels were lower and didn't match what was advertised in their pics. It's close but I believe their pics were enhanced, edited, photoshopped, whatever you want to call it to 'enhance' a better appearance. My pic was not edited and I tried to get the room ambient light level similar to theirs.
