It's like the Swiss Army knife of actuators!
I used this damper to add demand controlled ventilation to my house furnace. I originally wanted to put an energy recovery ventilator in, but a local contractor said I would probably get better performance for cheaper to just add a fresh air damper. I wired this to a 24 VAC transformer and the switch to open/close it is a duct-mounted Honeywell C7232B carbon dioxide sensor. When the concentration of CO2 in the return air duct rises above 1,000 PPM, a relay closes and this damper opens. It takes 60-90 seconds to fully travel open and once it does, you can hear the motor in the actuator click off so it's not running continuously. I also wired it so it's always powered closed but the command to open it overrides the closing mechanism. The instructions that came with the damper were incredibly helpful and I'm glad they were included.
